Re: Fickle FICM

I ran across circuit board medics on the internet when I was having trouble with long crank times on my 6.0 psd. At that time, the ficm produced no codes on the truck computer. Long storey shortened, truck started running bad like fuel injectors not working. A friend of mine checked the codes and fo...

Re: Fickle FICM

I receintly had problems with my ficm and sent it to circuit board medics for repair. It cost about $350 to have it repaired. My truck runs and starts better than it had in a long time. www.circuitboardmedics.com they offer same day service for $30 more. You can send it out NDA and they repair it th...

Re: Long crank time starting 6.0 PSD

I do not know for sure about that but you get a copy of the work order explaining what they did and checked. Take it with you to show them. In my case, I went to the same dealer for the lonk crank issue.

Re: Long crank time starting 6.0 PSD

My long crank time appears to be fixed after being towed to the dealer. It cost me but not as bad as they wanted to charge me. I drove to my local home depot store and when I came out, the truck would not start. I tried several times before calling a tow truck. The dealer found that my high pressure...

Re: Long crank time starting 6.0 PSD

Thanks for the info, it started acting up again. It likes to start when i release the key. If i crank it 3 sec then start over it fires right up. Seems like it is a pressure issue.

Re: Long crank time starting 6.0 PSD

Strange thing happened over the past 2 days. I turned the key & waited for the glow plug to finish and hit the key, the engine started in about 2 seconds just like it used to do. WOW :bounce: I was shocked by the way it started. Later on, it did the same thing. :bounce: :bounce: This morning it ...

Re: Air Lift Bags

I towed my trailer last weekend with 40 lbs in my Airlift and it was too stiff. I lowered the pressure to 30 and it rode good.

Re: Long crank time starting 6.0 PSD

I am out of my 100k warranty by time but under the 100k miles. I purchased an additional warranty good up to 137k miles but the FICM is not covered. They tested it and could not find any codes. The diesel tech said it starts perfect? When I picked it up yesterday, it started in 2 seconds. This morni...

Re: Long crank time starting 6.0 PSD

May have to live with it until it get so bad that it becomes more evident as to what the cause is. It aggrivates me that the part is not covered after spending over 2,000 bucks for extended warranty.

Long crank time starting 6.0 PSD

I took my truck to the dealer to investigate why the crank time to start the engine is getting longer.Typically the engine starts in about 2 to 3 seconds after the glow plug light goes out. When it is plugged in on cold days, the engine almost starts immediately. Lately over the past 2 months, it ta...

I use about 27 to 35 lbs with 2500 pin weight. Just enough to level when hitched.
