Re: Total Loss

Mike, Hopefully the insurance company takes care of you, your F250 truck should have no problems with the added pin weight they have added pin weight to all the newer model years 2010 and up. Like you said you can add a little more fresh water to remove some pin weight, if you find the truck rides a...

Re: GM/Dodge trucks

Rich, Much of my research on the 2008 and newer GM Diesel trucks found they do not put lower gear rear ends like Ford, they depend on the Allison transmission to do much of the work while keeping the rear end around 3.72 ratio. My new 2007 GMC Topkick did come with a 4.88 ratio, RPM's was always ove...

Re: GM/Dodge trucks

Like Mike said no truck wars here, I have the 2011 GMC 3500 Dually and it tows and has more power then any other truck I have owned, Even my Medium Duty truck that was rated at 31,000 lbs was like a turtle, it would pull anything and get you there but at 35 miles per hour and your foot on the floor ...

Looks great, from the location you standing looks like you have Lot 436 or 437.
When are they planning to have the sites ready?

Re: DO I NEED A BIGGER TRUCK

The new rigs GVWR will only be about 1,000 lbs more then your existing 2004 36 footer.
Your truck will have no problem towing the new unit.

The travel dollys have motors that moved the Shuttle own its own, Toyota worked out some deal to look like it pulled the Shuttle across that one section of bridge.

Re: Ford 2012 F350 CC SWB SRW 6.7 PS Towing vs. DRW

We are starting to see post and talk about new owners concern about pin weight and needing air bags on the newer trucks. I cannot speak for the new Ford owners but you will not need air bags on the newer GM trucks even with 3,000 lb. pin weight thay stay level when loaded.

Re: Ford 2012 F350 CC SWB SRW 6.7 PS Towing vs. DRW

Mabeer: I have the identical truck as yours except mine is a LWB. I assure you that you should be sleeping good as you have nothing to worry about. With that size unit and 7000 lb axles I'm sure it will come with "G" rated tires on 110 lb rims. I recommend you install a set of air bags, h...

Re: Shudder on takeoff

It's all about size and weight, hook up to a beast 38 feet and longer loaded and take off hard and you will see all these trucks will shuttle.
The rear axle housing is trying to twist with all the toque being applied to drive shafts, that's why they use double drive shafts and u-joints.

Re: Shudder on takeoff

Hard to tell you that something is normal, but my 2011 GMC CC 4WD DRW once in while has a shudder at take off. You have a heavy trailer that hard to get move, I will only feel this if I try put take off too fast from a dead stop, my Ford also did the same thing. Try what all others are saying about ...

Re: Transmission trouble

The transmission guy said the lighter duty Allisons do have some weak parts due to the cost of mfg and that once an after mkt replacement is installed they work great. Tell your transmission guy he does not know what he is talking about !!!! Like I said in my post GM does not even work on the Allis...
