Re: Point Mallard Park Campground - Decatur, AL
I can understand you feeling about the park Dennis and as I aluded to, it didn't really have that campground feel to it that we are use to but for some it might be ideal and I am sure the price is very attractive to full timers and those working in the area for extended periods of times. Other than ...

Point Mallard Park Campground - Decatur, AL
Point Mallard Park Campground is a city run park and campground. The campground has 217 full hook up 50A sites. The original sites in the A,B and C loops are mostly shaded. The newer sites on the back loop are mostly shaded, however there are a few that are full sun. The A loop is where we stayed. T...

Re: Star Performance King Pin Adapter
No experience with this one. I have the Andersen Ranch Hitch Adapter on my old RV and it worked well. Keep in mind these adapters typically void any warranty on the kingpin box and possibly the frame. Although they are rated for 20,000 to 30,000 lbs. the manufacturer of mine did not recommend going ...

Lake Guntersville State Park, Guntersville, AL
This is our favorite camping spot, primarily due to it's location. It is a very nice state park campground, bathouses are kept relatively clean. The sun sets over the lake looking out from the campground and is a wonderful photo op. Campground has 366 sites, a limited number of which have full hook ...

Wind Creek State Park, Alexander City, AL
We stayed at Wind Creek for the first time this past February. This is a very nice State park. The section we were in had a new bathhouse that was very nice. There are over 600 sites, some with full hook ups. There is no 50amp service. Due to the lake being a finger lake, many of the sites have wate...

I was hoping for about 12 pulling and 20 empty. Those numbers don't sound like the 18% increase Ford promised.

Re: Camping on the Gulf, Destin, FL
Definitly will look in to it but we have just been so enamored with the 30A area from SRB to Rosemary. We really like the local shop, dinning & clubs. http://www.30a.com/dennis1949 wrote:Try Emerald Beach campground at Navare Beach which is right nevt to Destin

Re: Camping on the Gulf, Destin, FL
I have heard that Grayton Beach SP is about like Henderson. It is small only about 30 or 40 sites I think and is further down 30A. We may check it out later this summer due to Topsail being booked up for the dates we want. Looks decent on Google Earth.

Re: Allison Transmission
Not a chevy guy here but it has been my experience that people who claim higher than normal MPG usually are stating an average MPG on a truck they use daily just driving around vs. a pulling MPG where the TV is under load the entire time. I average about 13 or 14 MPG as well but thats and average of...

And right across from Wal-Mart as I recall (Henderson SP) and what trip would not be complete without visiting the local Wal-Mart.Traveler II wrote: Another great place in Destin is, Henderson State Park located about 10 miles west of this park. Nice sites, not full hook up but a great place to stay.
