Re: Ford 6.7
We just traded for a 2015 F250 6.7 diesel. Have only pulled the trailer on one trip of 700 miles so far and am very pleased with the performance. We got an average of 11.5 - 12 mpg while towing the Blue Ridge and have been getting about 20 highway with the 3.31 gears. This is compared to our previou...

Re: Welcome
Thank you for the welcome. We are not new to the club and we had a Cardinal prior to the Blue Ridge. We have had the Blue Ridge for a little over a year and lived in it about 7 months. We have put several thousand miles on so far with only minor issues. We feel it is a quality unit and hope to have ...

Re: Winterizing your home
We usually just turn down the furnace to about 60 and unplug the electronics in the house. All of our billls are done online or by direct withdrawal from the checking account. I have alerts sent to my iPhone that the bills are due or paid. I also forward the home phone to my cell so we don't miss th...

Re: Dumb question on electrical hookup to truck
Our tailgate has a factory installed cover to protect the paint. We've never had a problem running the cord over it.

Re: new rig and towing
I, too, have a short bed Ford F250 and installed a Pull Rite Slider hitch and have had no problems at all. Also put air bags on the truck to level it out a little.

Re: Dumb question on electrical hookup to truck
On our Ford F250 we have the plug-in's located by the receiver hitch. Our trailer cord is long enough to reach over the tailgate and plug in there with no problems. We don't have a plug in in the bed. We have a slider hitch and running the cord over the tailgate keeps it out of the way when the hitc...

Re: New Ford owners...
We have a 2010 Ford and I don't know if it has that feature or not. I know there are 2 mileage settings that can be separate, but don't know about a trailer setting. Have to check it out!!

Re: To Superglide or not?
We have short bed and a slider hitch installed and like it. We also have the capture plate welded to the trailer hitch. If needed, a tow unit could pull the entire unit in for repairs if needed without removing the capture plate on the fifth wheel. Check with your insurance company.................

We Love Michigan. Used to have a sportfishing yacht that I kept at St Joseph. The salmon fishing was great in Lake Michigan.

Re: Anyone towing older Bird with newer truck?
We have a 2002 Cardinal 29WB and tow with a 2010 F250 Ford 4X4 with the tow package. We have a short bed extended cab and use a Pull-Rite slider hitch. We get along fine with about 10 inches of clearance between the box and the 5th wheel. We do have a little sag in the back of the truck when hitched...

Re: Escapees in this forum
We are not that far apart. We make it to Siloam Springs a few times in the summer. We look just like our avatar so if you see us, stop and sit a spell. We are leaving for Texas in 4 days and plan to stay there until the end of February and then pull around to Florida until April. My son lives in St ...
