Short Box or Long Box

I currently have a 2008 Ram 4x4 Quad Cab with Long Box which pulls a 31' RKS Cardinal for the past 4 years. I'm getting frustrated with a number older RV resorts that have long enough sites however the roads are narrow and with vehicles parked all over, its difficult to back our unit into the site. ...

Re: Mesa Regal - Internet Upgrades ??

When we were in the computer room getting our email etc. we noticed someone playing a "Video Game". No wonder people couldn't get on the system with people like that abusing the system. This coming winter I'm exploring Century Link (local internet provider) installing a hard wire to the RV...

Re: Benson-Tombstone AZ

Thanks to all for your comments. We are not going to commute the 2 hrs each way and get a place closer as suggested in your replies. Should be in the area around Feb 15th for a few days.

Benson-Tombstone AZ

Anyone have any positive comments on the rv parks in Benson-Tombstone area.? I've read a lot of neg comments and a few positive ones when I Google RV Park Reviews for these areas. We had thought about using the Benson area for 3 or 4 days as a home base while we visit the area including Tombstone, B...

Mesa Regal - Internet Upgrades ??

We've stayed at the Mesa Regal Resort in Mesa twice now and the internet service was really poor for having numerous transmitters in the Park. When we left in late March of 2012, the Park was planning on some upgrades and possibly giving you the option of getting a modem through a new cable provider...

Tools to take along

We are getting ready to head South in our 2000 28.5 RKS and I have to take along an assortment of tools "just in case". What tools do you take that you think are mandatory and which ones are "nice to take along"? This would include screw drivers, wrenches, fuses, hammer, pliers, ...

Re: Trailer brake controller location

I'm getting the prodigy controller and the 06 and 08 are similar dashes. I am opting for the right side of the steering column so it will be more accessible and the wiring can be better hidden. I've seen some with the controller on the left and when you open the door you see the, sometimes messy, wi...

Trailer brake controller location

Just bought an 08 Ram 3500 and it didn't have a brake controller. Has anyone installed one that looks like it belongs there and not appear as though it was just slapped on the lower dash anywhere. I want it to look neat and tidy when done. Thanks for any info.

Re: Dodge Bedrail Height

Thanks Snoking -With yours still having about 8" clearance with a 57" box that gives me a good idea when I measure some newer Ram's. I measured a friends 2003 3500 dually 2wd and he is about 56-57" at the tailgate. Perhaps these Cardinals from 2000 to whenever have at least 62" o...

Dodge Bedrail Height

Can anyone give me the measurement of their 2007/2008 Dodge 2500 and/or 3500 (single wheel) from the top of their bed rail to the ground. Our 2000 Cardinal is approx. 62" from the ground to the bottom of the front overhand and I understand we should have 6-10" of open space between the tru...

Do I flip my axels?

Does anyone pull an older 5th, (Cardinal 2000 - 27.5 RKS) with a new truck that has high bed rails. We currently have a 2001 2wd Ram Cummins SB and are considering a 2008 Dodge 4x4 to pull the 2000 Cardinal. The 5th sits level at approx 62" from ground to bottom of overhang and the 2001 truck r...

Anyone towing older Bird with newer truck?

We are presently towing our 2000 27.5 RKS Cardinal with a 2001 Dodge Cummins 3/4 ton 4x2 that has the extra leaf in the tow package. The truck and RV are nice and level when driving. We are now considering a newer, perhaps 2008, Dodge or maybe a Chev/GMC. I've noticed that the boxes on these newer t...

Re: RV Park between Stockton & Bakersfield, CA

Those prices I quoted $37 and $34,at Riverland, are the "off season" rates and they jump when summer comes. We have Good Sam to reduce this, plus with Passport America and Coast to Coast there is usually someplace to get a reduced rate when enroute to your destination. The trouble is the C...

Re: RV Park between Stockton & Bakersfield, CA

I just called Riverland Resort in Kingsburg and they are open year round. Rates for Jan-Feb are $37 for full hook up and $34 for water/electric with another $2 off with Good Sam. Website looks impressive.
