Elkhart Indiana Campgrounds

Hello, Vickie and I are going to be in Elkhart, Indiana next month for three days. Your recommendations for full-hookup campgrounds will be appreciated since we've never been there before.
Thanks in advance,
Roy

Bar Harbor and Portland Campground Recommendations

Vickie and I are going to visit Bar Harbor Maine the middle of Sept. Since there was a Cardinal Rally there last year would you mind giving us your thoughts about staying at the same campground that hosted the rally? Are there other campgrounds in that area you might recommend, also? I know the airp...

Re: Big boys trucks

There is a Kroger in Sevierville, TN area that normally has lower diesel fuel prices for those attending the rally next week. Be ready for "sticker" shock in Asheville area so suggest filling up before you get into NC. Ha!

Re: High Cost of RV Travel....?

Being retired from the military we stay at campgrounds on military bases whenever we can. It costs a lot less, most of them are really nice, and it always brings back memories.

6.0 Diesel Class Action Suit

Received letter advising that a class action suit has been filed against Ford for owners of 2003-2007 Ford vehicles with 6.0 diesel. States if my vehicle received one or more repairs during it's first five years or 100,00 miles to a fuel injector, EGR valve or cooler, oil cooler, or turbocharger the...

Re: Extended Warranties?

My right front caliper froze up a couple of weeks ago and had to be changed. Did it at the local Ford dealership. My cost was the $100 deductible. As I said earlier, my 6.0 has had the heads replaced, glow plugs replaced, harness replaced, and turbo hose replaced due to antifreeze being blowed out. M...

Re: Extended Warranties?

We bought the 60 month/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper extended warranty for our 2007 F-350 dually diesel. I bought it at a Ford dealership with 7 months left on factory warranty and it was certified for another year. Because of known issues with the 6.0 I decided a few months later to get an extended ...

Re: Silverado vs Ram, Dually vs Single

Vickie and I love our dually for pulling. However, we don't enjoy having to use it as an ever day vehicle once we've parked the RV. It can be troublesome driving on narrow, two-lane mountain roads, in busy towns with multiple lane traffic, and parking definitely creates problems. I'm always worried ...

Re: Your Favorite RV Park for 2012

For the Southeast we really enjoyed 1.) Ivey Acres in Piedmont, SC (near Greenville) 2.) Moccasin Creek State Park in Clarksville, GA and 3.) River Plantation in Sevierville, TN near Pigeon Forge. Most of our camping was close to home this year. We also enjoyed camping on base at Charleston AFB, SC.

Re: New Hitch????

Being new to the 5th wheel world I've only owned one style hitch. It is the B&W Companion. It has worked well for me on my long-bed truck. I like the ease of connecting and disconnecting the RV as well as the ease in removing and installing the hitch. I'm not sure if they make one for a short-be...

Thanks, I really enjoyed this!! Having worked at Ford in Atlanta in late 60's (for a few months) on the assembly line manufacturing Torino''s I am amazed at the process now versus then.

Re: Oil Drips at Intercooler Couplers

[quote:] It sounds like it was a very good investment for you, but the thing you have to be aware of on those extended warranties is that most of them are wrap warranties which means the 60 months start from the day the vehicle was first purchased not from the day you bought it.]

You...
