Re: Towing in Mountains

Just recently got back from a trip that included a few passes, including the "famous" cabbage patch hill out of Pendelton, Ore. Like others have said, just leave it in tow-haul mode and let the truck do the work. A good rule of thumb is, don't go down a mountain any faster than you went up...

Re: Corps of Engineers--information needed

Mark: All you have to do, as was suggested, is get on the www.recreation.gov/ website and create a profile. We just recently came from Lake Melvern, KS, where we stayed at a COE park called Outlet. We made our reservations thru the website before we left home, and it cost us $17.00 a night for 4 nig...

Re: Trucks

Our F-250 does a good job hauling our bird around. If you go with a new rig, keep in mind that its recommended you put some miles on it, around 500 or so, before you start towing with it.
Good Luck...............Marv

Re: Branson??

We stayed at Table Rock State Park several years ago and it was very nice. If you stay at the campground closest to the marina you can even pick up wi-fi. If you are planning on getting to the park in the middle of the week you should be able to get a camping spot since they keep several open as no...

Re: Branson??

Hey Marv, We live in KC and make a run to Branson each fall. Here's where we usually stay > http://www.tallpinescampground.com/ It's located pretty close to everything, but not "too close" if you know what I mean. Thanks for the tip on Tallpines. Looks nice. Being from KC, have you ever b...

Casino Bird

Marge & I saw a Bird this morning parked in the lot at "Angel of the Winds" casino off I-5 near Arlington, Wa. Drove by but nobody around. Did notice that it was one of our neighbors to the north, as the Bird had a British Columbia plate on her. Anyone from the club????

Re: Branson??

Charles: Thanks for the tip on Tablerock. Sounds like our kind of place. My problem is with the making reservations "soon", as this is going to be one of those trips where we don't really have anything planned once we leave N.Dak. We do have two stops we'd like to make in the area south of...

Branson??

Hi, Folks: Marge & I are in the planning stages of a trip back East with stops in N.Dak, Minn, Wis, Iowa, Kansas, & Missouri. We've been kicking around the idea of dropping down into Branson, before turning West again, and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions as to a good place to st...

Re: what are you towing with

Good Morning, Brent: We tow our '07 31RKLE with the '06 F-250 in our sig. We get right around 12/13 mpg with the bird in tow, but I contribute most of that to the fact that the truck has only 9,000+ miles on it. Yeah, I know, whats wrong with that picture!!?? We have a pretty good trip planned for t...

On ours I have to completely remove a bottom drawer on one of the kitchen cabinets to get to the valve. Yea, its a nuisance, but I figure what the heck, the only time I'm going to have to deal with it is when I winterize, and then only if I decide to pump the pink stuff thru the system.

Interesting. Since we've had our Cardinal, I've e-mailed Mr. Batts a couple of times with questions I had but have yet to receive a response to either of them. Apparently Mr. Batts is very selective on who or what he responds to!!

We must have the same light fixtures on our ceiling fan, as they also get very hot after being on for awhile. Luckily we have a wall switch plus two chain pulls that contol power to the fan and the lights.

O.K., guys, you got me convinced. Additive at every fill-up. Now all I've got to remember is, I can't pump it myself when we are in Oregon!!??
