Re: Dodge Ram
Thanks! I thought if we are going to be spending that much time in it I was going to get one loaded out. That Cummins will outlast me!

Re: Dodge Ram
This is my new truck. http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy64/DesertRat_photo/44692b34-e02d-42bd-8e6c-22e04e6f2ba3.jpg On the way back from Mission TX I ran it up to 80 mph for a few min. just to see how it handled. It felt just as smooth as 60 mph. In fact it was an accident really...I didn't look ...

Re: Does anyone dry camp?
Gary, The dealer installs the battery so you will need to know the battery amps you have and use this calculation chart to determine battery drain. I would guess that your residential refrigerator requires 700- 800 watts to run. Click on (How long will the battery last) http://www.inverters.com/pag...

Re: Does anyone dry camp?
solar charger will be the best thing because that refrigerator is going to pull a 27 group 500 amp battery down in a few hours. Doesn't his refrigerator run on propane? Rob Nope...we have a 3 door residential refrigerator with ice and water in the door...just like we have at home. We had a 2 door o...

Re: Buy vs Rent RV lots
Of those who didn't buy a lot, does anyone use a membership network such as Coast to Coast, RPI, Thousand Trails, Encore, etc. etc. ? Do you like it? Do you get you money's worth from it? Are they better, quieter, or otherwise nicer than just going to a "public" campground or resort? Now t...

Re: Does anyone dry camp?
Heading for Texas Speedway NASCAR race in a couple of weeks. My new 3850RL is factory stock as of now. LP Gen, one battery, and two LP tanks. 1. How long should I have to run the gen. to charge the battery? Also just charging battery (not running A/C or Microwave) how long should a LP tank last? 2. ...

Re: New Diesel Pickup Questions
I currently have a 2010 Chev 2500HD (with Duramax) & I am currently on the ragged edge of being over my capacity with towing my 5th wheel. I would like to add a trailer & ATVs to the end of my 5th wheel - the additional weight concerns me. I guess I am thinking of upgrading to a one ton pic...

Re: Buy vs Rent RV lots
Kind of hard to be around NASCAR except for a race once in a while like Texas or Phoenix. Personally I would not like to be tied to one spot. Chris is correct you come back to an area you like more for the friends you have made. We travel another 900 plus miles to come to Texas because of that but ...

Re: Buy vs Rent RV lots
How many of you own your lot? Is it a spot you winter on...3-5 months, or is it something you spend most of the year on? Who rents a spot? Do you go back to the same place(s) or do you winter in different places each year? We are to a point we can be "snow birds" next winter and starting ...

Re: DEF
Don't know about the regen...I'll have to read the manual. My new Ram has a DEF gauge just like the fuel gauge. Haven't found what the tank size is yet, but I was about 1/4 or so and put about 4 1/5 gal in yesterday. My motor home has a 13 gal DEF tank.

Re: Auxiliary vs Transfer Tank
I saw a blurb on the DOT thing somewhere...and I think you are OK as long as it's NOT a commercial vehicle. I'm thinking a 55 gal 24" cube or a 85 gal "L" tank. Gravity feed would be NO moving parts...I like that. I was reading a thread about someone going to FL. He got snowed on in M...
