Re: Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch?

So, I know nothing of them either. I do know those that own them are almost fanatical about them. For me, there just isn't enough benefit to switch. Dana is right, you have to be able to jack the trailer quite a bit higher. I watched a guy next to me hitch up, and he had to get a torque wrench out t...

Re: 4WD or 2WD vehicle???

I have 4x4, but that mostly because I live in Michigan, and the winters can get pretty bad. I wouldn't buy 4x4 just to tow with, although I have used 4lo before to more easily back up onto blocks. That is easier on the transmission.

Re: 2013 Cardinal 3850RL question

We've got a 2017 3850RL and love the floor plan and nice wide stairs to bedroom. It's a heavy beast though. GVWR is just a hair over 16K. I'm sure my rig is all of that for sure.

Cardinal Estate sighted

We are parked at Indigo Bluffs RV resort in Northern Michigan. Had a Cardinal Estate parked kiddie corner from me, but didn't get a chance to speak with the owners before they pulled out this morning.

Safe travels!

Re: Slight Vibration

I'd seriously be surprised if it were some bearing in the transmission or rearend. Sounds more like a driveshaft u-joint, or a tire that has had something let go internally causing it to be out of balance. Wheel bearings in my opinion don't have a huge vibration when going bad, just the whine that c...

Re: Expect a dramatic rise in cost of diesel in the next yea

Evidently ships at sea have to convert to the low sulpher diesel that our trucks use today. This will be a huge impact on demand and drive costs up. How much????? This CNBC article gives the details: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/01/biggest-change-in-fuel-since-leaded-gas-went-away-could-raise-price...

Re: Washing Machine Draining to Black Water Holding Tank

I had read about this phenomenon on the FR Cardinal forum as well. There is another flavor of this issue too.... I think what you mention and the following scenario it is a mistake on FR part, because the ones that reported it over there indicate that while they have two gray tanks, they indicated t...

Re: Non electric campsites

John's question about the type of refrigerator makes a difference on how long the batteries will last. The RV gas/electric refrigerator uses much less battery because it only requires a quick burst of power to light the unit and then it operates on propane. The residential refrigerator operates usi...

Re: LEASE a 3500-F350

Does any of the big 3 offer a lease on a 3500 or 350 I wish I could lease a new one and turn it in every 3 or 4 years But ford don't offer that . I told them they need a Rv lease for the RV guys that keep them nice and don't put a dent in every panel. Think about it they could do a 4 year lease wit...
