Re: Pirateland?

We rode through Pirateland looking at the sites, but came out preferring Ocean Lakes. Ocean Lakes has dirt sites, sites with trees, ocean view sites, concrete pad sites, just about any kind of site you can think of. We also like Briarcliffe, but I think you have to be a member of a camping club (lik...

I-40 between Benson & Newton Grove, NC

Spotted a Cardinal being pulled by tan pickup around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 4th on I-40 between Benson & Newton Grove, NC, in the eastbound lane. Was it you?

Re: Rutledge RV Park, NC

Thanks for refreshing my memory---I had that site in my "favorites" but had forgotten about it. Really good reviews---makes me feel better. They also started participating with Camp Club USA in March, which we're a member of. I asked the owner about getting the discount for CCUSA the other...

Re: Rutledge Lake RV Park, NC

Yes, that's the place. It's always nice to hear from someone who has stayed @ a particula campground.

Re: Charleston or Myrtle Beach

I like Ocean Lakes if you want to stay on the southern end of Mytrle Beach (near Legends Theatre & on the ocean) or if the northern end of Myrtle Beach is more to your liking, I like MB Travel Park (on the ocean). Because we're members of Camp Club USA, we can stay @ Briarcliffe (is near the oce...

Re: Disney Fort Wilderness, FL

I would definitely make reservations. February is a very busy time of year for Florida. Lots of people spend the winter months there. I didn't want to drive all that way and then find out we couldn't get a site. We were there the 1st week in March and there were hardly any empty sites @ Ft. Wilderne...

Re: Disney Fort Wilderness, FL

We were there 1st week in March. We were in the section for pet owners. They were in the process of enlarging the concrete pads @ some of the sites. Our camper is 36' long and my husband had a very hard time getting our camper into the site because of the trees there were on each side of the site (a...

Re: GA & FL Campgrounds

We stayed @ Savannah Oaks RV Resort near Savannah on our way home after our trip to Florida in March (we live in eastern NC). We only stayed one night but would love to have stayed longer if we'd had more time. We liked it so much we want to go back there again and see some of the sights around Sava...

Re: Florida Beach

We were @ Ft. Wilderness 1st week in March '09. The Hoop De Doo dinner show was very good. I would highly recommend it. The boat @ the marina is the way to go if you're going to Magic Kingdom. To use my lap top I had to pay $10.00 a day for a "suitcase" full of cables, router, etc. that wa...

Re: GA & FL Campgrounds

Thanks, it's always good to get feedback about a place you've never seen before. I'm a little nervous but excited about this trip as I have never been further south than Myrtle Beach, SC.

We are planning a trip to the Avon Park Area of Florida for a big Antique Farm Equipment Show & wondered if any of the Cardinal Club Members have stayed in that area? We've got reservations @ Lake Glenada RV Park (near Avon Park); it was really hard to find a place this time of year so hope it'l...

Re: Towing Law in NC

Thanks everyone for your answers. According to the towingworld website, it's not legal in N.C., and the local highway patrol office said it is illegal unless your tow vehicle is a tractor trailer and you have a CDL, and they gave me the North Carolina General Statute (20-116) and the website I could...

Towing Law in NC

My husband wants to pull a boat behind our Cardinal 5th wheel and our camper dealer says it is legal as long as overall length doesn't exceed 70'. The local highway patrol office says it's not legal unless it is a tractor trailer and you have a CDL license. Camper Life says triple towing is not allo...
