Re: Near Tragedy

I checked 'em for sure. I had to close a few drawers after I looked inside the trailer though! I took the next day off - just sat in the RV park and drank a beer or three...

Near Tragedy

The Background - I have been the butt of a few good-natured jokes from the family and friends re my near obsession with everything safety when it comes to the t and t. (EBC truck brakes all around, Kodiak electro- hydraulic discs and HD pads on the trailer) The Incident - Coming through Sioux City, ...

Re: space

It is amazing how an inclined driveway or entrance can eat up the 4 to 6 inches between truck bed and trailer - corner of one side has a white rub mark to remind me...

Re: A little stress...me too!

Once again, air bags do not increase the towing capacity of your vehicle. They will stop people from flashing their lights at you when night towing, though...

Re: This should be interesting

After spending twenty three years teaching architecture and engineering at two prestigeous universities, it still amazes me that practical experience in the "real world" is still more valid than any book learning! So often, the people with all the credentials throw numbers out there withou...

Re: Daytona Beach FL

Thanks for the good word about this campground. Unlike many (any?) of the members on this site, we do a lot of camping in Fla. and Alabama. We'll put this one on our "check it out" list. Our summer home base is Southern Ontario - we're practically neighbors...

Re: Dually MPG

The neighbor here has a 08 F350. He swears that he is getting 10-12 mpg without towing. Is this true or is he embelishing the truth a bit? (Truck's for sale.)
I'm in the market for a new truck.

Confusion

Jan. 1st, the Florida State Legislature passes a law stating that Canadian drivers must have an international driver's license to drive in Fla. In the middle of snowbird season, Florida publicizes this regulation to Canadians. Mass panic ensues. Florida Highway Patrol announces that this law will no...

Re: Silverado vs Ram, Dually vs Single

My dually truck is an awfully big target in parking lots and city driving. My pin weight leaves no option for a single rear wheel, though. The 2013 Dodge HD (completely redesigned) is supposed to have best-in-class numbers. True or hype I don't know. Interesting to see what they've done - Feb. avail...
