Re: Oil Changes on your DIESEL trucks

I mostly go along with the Driver Information Center readings on my Dmax unless I am going on a long trip and don't want to mess with it while away. This time getting ready to go to Texas I had 33% remaining on the oil and 10% remaining on the fuel filter. I had about 6000 on the oil and 10000 on th...

Re: New tow vehicle car carrier on the way

Wow, that is going to be some rig! :thumbrt: What a way to keep the bugs off the front of the trailer. Will you be putting the Miss Elly sign on this one?
You'll have to get a video recording of peoples reaction when Sharon drives the full rig into a campground. =))

I think you should let Susanna name it since it was her idea.

I'll bet Olbird (George) can't wait to drill holes in it and watch you squirm. =))

Re: 2011 GM Duramax Numbers

When you look at the payloads and towing capacities the chart becomes a useless apples and oranges comparison. The new Duramax has 60% new parts. I would hope they would all be new. =)) Mike, you better go for it while all the stars are aligned perfectly. Especially the star you have to live with. :D

Re: 7 Way Harness Question

It sounds like a good way to burn up a wiring harness to me. I would get one of those portable battery/booster packs and connect it to the wires that the trailer battery would go to and run those high current motors with it. Then charge the pack as needed.

Re: Weight Limit

It is a good idea to also check with your state's department of transportation regarding vehicle inspection requirements for the different license plate weight ratings. Illinois has a convoluted mess but it makes a good campfire story.

Re: Hitch Mounted Mud Flaps

I have had a set for quite a while and they work very well at keeping the rocks and grime off the front of the bird. The fine spray mist seems to get anywhere it wants no matter what you do. The company was good to work with when I changed trucks and had to buy new flaps because of being taller. The...
