Re: It was time

Nice looking ride Dave. I'm glad things worked out well for you with being around home base and all.

His attention to detail is incredible when you see the T in person.

Re: Slight Vibration

I had to replace the driveshaft carrier bearing on mine. The rubber around the bearing was cracking and allowing the driveshaft to vibrate when taking off from a stop sign under load while towing. I have the 8' bed and am not sure if the regular bed uses the bearing or not. It is easy to check and n...

Re: Best mud flaps for a dually pick up

I use Rock Tamers system that mounts on the receiver hitch and have had no issues with the front of my trailer. My exhaust exits towards the side of the truck instead of straight back so it misses the mud flap. I have had them since about 2005.

Re: 2500 or 3500

Assuming the truck you are considering is similar to the one you have with the Crew Cab, Standard Box, SRW, and Duramax; it has a 5th wheel tow rating of 13,500 lbs according to the Trailer Life tow guide. This compares to your current truck capacity of 17,000 lbs. You may be able to beef up the sus...

Re: Transmission Shifting with a slight Thump

Also consider checking the condition of the rubber around the driveshaft's center carrier bearing. You could also notice a vibration when pulling away from a stop while towing.

Re: Short Box or Long Box

I like the long box myself. Finding another campground may be the best solution. Turning the trailer that sharp with the forklift puts an incredible amount of stress on the axles and frame.

Re: Winter Towing Question

I run dry until I get out of the freezing temps. If needed. I use RV antifreeze to flush the toilet by dumping it into the bowl while holding the foot valve open. Use baby wipes to clean hands. Refrigerator is on. Furnace is on and set to 55 degrees to keep things from freezing such as canned goods ...

Re: Tire Pressure Monitors

Just scuffed up the plastic fender when the tire came out. The wheel came off of the right rear and must have went into the ditch as far as I know. The lug bolts all snapped off and the front axle and wheel carried the weight without damaging the rear brake drum. :-o

Re: Tire Pressure Monitors

I am looking at tire pressure monitors and was wondering if someone can tell me if the TST 507 will alarm or at least indicate if a signal is lost from one of the tires. The reason I ask is that we had a wheel come off and didn't know about it until someone pulled alongside and pointed at our trailer.
