Bull Run Regional Park campground, VA

We stayed at this campground the first week of may. Quite occupied as there was a civil war reenactment in the area, so we had to settle for an electric only site, 30 amp. It did keep our lights on, but as soon as we used an appliance, i.e. microwave, voltage dropped to less than 100 volts. A nice p...

Re: Dully? 4x4 or 2x4?

Well, no one has mentioned the Dodge, the best puller. Cummins diesel, good tranny now since 09, quiet. I have the 3500 dually, long box, 4 doors and love it. In fact, at the campground I left the truck running while checking in and a guy followed me in and asked "is that your truck"? Thin...

Re: Dodge 3500

Pulling in November is ok, in fact 2 years ago we were camping in Colorado foothills in December and came home in December. Just need a good propane burner BUt now November and we hit 72 today. In the whole month of October we could not reach 70. Everyone is coming to visithere for the holidays, so ...

Re: Dodge 3500

I like it, but I have not towed with it yet, only 950 miles on it, but I am getting about 14 mpg right now. Easy driving though. The weather in Michigan has been crappy and just didn't feel like camping in November type weather. Trying to talk my wife into a southern trip somewhere this winter.

Re: Performance Chip programmers

Well, jeez, I missed out on all the fun. I chipped my 5.9L CTD, I did notice a mileage increase ( a whopping 1 mpg) and better mid RPM torque. I really enjoyed it on light to medium loads on flat ground. However, in the hills (like the Rockies), I had to set it to stock because the turbo temp shot t...

Re: Dodge 3500

Good to hear the praise. I am anxious to try ours out, which will happen in a couple of weeks. If the repair record is like my 2500 Dodge, you should have no problems. In 104k the only problem was the front drive shaft becuz they were to lazy to put in a greaseable carrier bearing. Now they do, I th...

Re: Dodge 3500

Hooked up the new 3500 to the Cardinal to tow it over to the warehouse for power washing. Now I am anxious for the road, it tows so easy and effortless with that vehicle. But I have to be patient. Work has to come first to pay for that thing.

Re: Towing in Mountains

Chrysler has no problem with a Pac Brake. I had a small engine problem and a drive shaft warranty, no problem with the warranty from Chrysler. In fact, most dealers will install a Pac Brake on in-warranty truck.

Re: Dodge 3500

I am fluctuating between 13.2 and 13.9. i hope it improves more, and it will.
My 5.9 started life at about 16-17 and now does about 19-20 at 100k miles.

Re: Towing in Mountains

As do I have a Pac Brake on a Dodge 03.5 automatic. Works great, big load off the brakes.
I did have to touch the brakes going down a 10% grade about a month ago, but more to ease my mind than needing it.

Re: Dodge 3500

I am at 500 now and the co-pilot keeps telling me to slow down....but I haven't figured out how yet. :)
Got the hitch installed and anxious to tow the porta-potty down the road now.

Re: Dodge 3500

Well, contemplation is over. I drove the 3500 Laramie home today, now (with GMAC) the proud owner of a dually. Mentioned to my wife that I had to use it for a work job (knowing the response) and sure did get a rise out of her. :D

Get a pic on here when I return from a business trip.
