Re: Tranny Problems - truck in the Hospital finally!
I would not be too upset with a tranny that lasted 9 years. There are plenty bone stock trucks that have tranny problems before they are 9 years old. But only 85K miles! Chris The last one I burned up had less that 40,000 miles. I put a Superchip in a 2000 Ford with the 7.3 and a auto trans while t...

Chris, are you saying that the broken part is aftermarket and is actually thinner than the OEM part?

Re: Sad Day! Tranny Problems
Don't get me wrong, this new Ford is a great vehicle. I just had a soft spot for the dually with the 6.0. It is really sad that the 6.0 had so many problems. It towed great and got real good MPGs for a big truck. I got rid of mine before I spent big bucks on it, maybe that is why I have good memorie...

Re: Sad Day! Tranny Problems
Glad you found a local guy to do the repair, they are the best in my opinion. I am sure you will be glad you kept your truck. I know nobody will believe this, but I still miss my 6.0 Ford. Sometimes I wish I would have kept it and done the upgrades.

Re: Sad Day! Tranny Problems
You never know when you buy used. I have returned a few back to "stock" before trading them in. The best thing to do is talk to the previous owner. If you check them out real good you can usually pick out the good ones. The fluids tell a lot, along with wear patterns. I am sure that with y...

Re: Timbren/Torklift Kits
Never had Timberens. I had AirLift bags with the on board compressor that I could control while going down the road. I could usually get a better ride by changing the pressure with different road conditions. then let the pressure down to 5lbs when empty and have the factory ride. I mounted the gauge...

Re: Transfer Flow Midship Replacement Tank
The DTE is never accurate or even close. I can change it from towing to not towing and sometimes it is less for not towing. I don't know what kind of math this thing uses, but it is not the same kind that I was taught in school

Chris, My transmission buddy is in the mountains for the opening week of deer hunting. I can contact him next week if you have not found out anything by then. Let me see, transmission and tires have to be at the least $6000, makes the new truck look better

Re: Sad Day! Tranny Problems
If you were here I could get you a deal. I have a close friend that is a Mopar Trans specialist. He has about 25 years experience. He has built several for off road trucks, drag and dirt cars. I noticed that you are running the high capacity aluminum pan. Are you running an upgraded torque convertor...

Re: sliding 5th wheel hitch
I have no problems sliding my Reese hitch as long as I am on pretty level ground. I stop in a level spot before I get home to get it slid back. I have a friend that pulls into a parking lot about a mile before he gets home to slide his. If you are not on level ground try blocking the trailer wheels,...
