You are right, it is not easy. We spent a year trying to decide. We walked in the dealer to place an order and found out about all the changes. But since our major concern was CC, the new 6000# axles and goodyear tires swayed us to stay with the model we wanted. We ordered the 31rkle sight unseen. W...

When we ordered our 31RKLE our dealer had a copy of the new 2008 brochure. On the top it said these changes were effective 11-27-07. So all campers built after that date will reflect the new standards and floorplans. Anything prior to that was built like the 2007 floorplans. He made us a copy of the...

It's the same recall that has been around for over a year. I'm sure by now most folks have had the fix done on their refrig. FR is just covering their butt.

2008 Changes coming on Cardinals

Thought I'd let folks know about changes that are in the works. Our dealer was in Louisvile last week and came back with these changes. We went to order our Cardinal 31 RKLE yesterday. We didn't finalize yet, the price jumped up a bit. But they have made some good changes. The axles are now 6000#, a...

I think you have misunderstood my post. I'm not concerned how much the 5er weighs, my truck can handle a much larger and heavier 5er. Our concern is that the cargo capacity is only 1840#'s. The 30RK and 31RK are the only Cardinal units with such a low carrying capacity. All other units range from 25...

Insufficient cargo capacity 30rk & 31rk

I am really concerned about only having 1800 lbs cargo capacity on these units. At our dealer they are all coming equipped with geny prep. A built in generator is going to weigh approx 300 lbs, The 65 gal fresh water filled weighs 452 lbs. That leaves about 700 lbs for stuff. We are packing for a tr...

Al, How did you get Lippert axles on your Cardinal? Our dealer (Berryland) told us that Forest River only uses AL-KO on Cardinals. I'd love to have anything other than AL-KO axles put on when we order ours.
We've had our share of problems with AL-KO on our Wildcat.

Thanks Donna, it's Kim. Just letting everyone know the Mrs was concerned about the decor. Hubby finds everything the way it comes fine. We won't be at the rally, but might see you somewhere else in our travels. We still need to order our new rig. Right now we are concerned about the 1850 cargo capac...

Donna, I see you put curtains in windows. Did you use a regular wrap around curtain rod? I was wondering if one fit under the window valance.

Thanks for all the input. Did they give you a discount for not getting mattress? Did you still get the bedding? I plan on using something different also. That light color is a disaster waiting to happen. I'm pretty sure I will go with queen, since it is true to size. I can get a pillow top off QVC f...

Queen bed w/nightstand vs. king

All the models on the dealers lot have King beds. I was wondering how the queen with nightstands fit in place of the King. I am looking at a 31rkle and to make a king size bed, the slide makes you stand at an awkward position. Since the queen is a real queen I was thinking of changing to this and wo...

Thanks, I have very similar shelves in the Wildcat we currently have. The foam in the center is a good idea. I may try to do that if I can figure out how to get them out.
