The electric heater I use always is the oil filled radiator type. No fan, no noise, just hot heat waves coming out of it! Love it! We also plug in a small fan forced heater to focus the heat at us--usually when sitting in the recliner watching a movie, etc. Oh does that feel good! Expecially when I'...

I was putting insulation on my drop down drain hoses under my rig and noticed the front two long drains had the black insulation fabric cut when they installed the drop down drain pipes. They cut it about one foot, and there was no insulation on the horizontal hoses. I put house insulation in there ...

A couple months ago I noticed the same thing under mine--several screws loose or gone. I got some silicone especially for aluminum and pumped a good amount of it in each hole and rescrewed the screws back in. I bought several of the same size--they worked ok, one size up probably would have been bet...

I'm curious if you folks who have these Michelin's in the 85 size have the distrance between the tires noticably closer? Like 1.5" vs. 2.5" with the 80's?

Did the 2008's improve the stove vent fan exhaust?

It seems quite bizzare to me that they designed my 31RK with the exhaust fan over the stove blowing the air through the filter and BACK INTO THE RIG!!!!!!!! All that condensation stays in the rig--I guess. I'm wondering if not only the 2008's changed that, but if anyone has had the fan exhaust alter...

Michelin tires

You could easily substitute my name for George's first reply!!!! I feel the exact same way. My Karrier's had about 6000 miles on them; one of them lost a piece of tread, started to split, so I just replaced them with Michelin XPS Ribs. They are slightly larger (85 vs. 80s) and I've just driven them ...

Update on my "final???" slide out repair

You may recall several of my posts about the problems i've had with my large slide out in my 31RK. It came in too far at the top, not far enough at the bottom; cutting the trim at the top. After several trips to the dealer for adjustment, FR authorized a tear down to replace the half inch aluminum a...

new Michelin tires!

Hi folks. Thanks for your input on new tires. I bought 235/85R16's to replace my 235/80R16's. Michelin XPS Ribs. Beautiful tires--they "look" so much beefier than those crapy Karrier's! They are noticable larger--now I have about 1.5" between the tires instead of the 2.5". I have...

I guess I wasn't clear on what I wanted. My interest is the 5er. We want to have it ready to camp in at any time, but want to protect it from freezing the water lines WHILE IT IS UNUSED AT HOME. I guess I could drain the hot water tank, leaving the rest of the pipes with water in them and run the he...

Avoiding winter non use times water freezing

Since my 31RK has been in warranty repair for most of the last month, we would like to camp next week. But, I want to avoid the water pipes/tanks freezing while it is sitting unused at home. I assume opening cupboards and putting a heater inside should do it, but what about the hot water tank--since...

I'm wondering why you got no factory warranty when it's a 2008 model?

I'm getting rid of my Karrier tires ASAP--getting perhaps Michelins? Mark

Tire size question--80 vs 85

I have ST 235.80R16E's on my 31RK. I'm wondering if anyone has replaced these with 85's? My size is very hard to find, and I just wonder if the clearances are ok if I switch to the 85's.

Has anyone done this successfully (or not). Thanks Mark

We are patient, aren't we Dave? I'm still waiting for my big slide to be finally fixed, and it's been 9 months since mine was acquired new. It goes down Thursday for major surgery, I guess. They will put a wider piece of aluminum angle iron to stop the top of the slide from coming in too far & c...

I had an electric awning on my MH. It was nice just to push the button, but was not braced like the manual awning I have on my Cardinal is now. The wind almost ripped off the electric one! So, check the wind resistance. And, do you plan to keep the RV covered? In a shop building, etc.? don't make my...
