Re: F250 Transfer Case Noise
Take it in to your dealer and make sure they describe exactly what your concern is on the repair order. If the dealer tells you that there is no problem with it but, you are not completely convinced, return it to the dealer again before the warranty expires and go through the same process, making su...

Re: Hitch Mounted Mud Flaps
Seems like a good idea but, they sure are proud of them. Do you have standard mudflaps behind the wheels?

Re: Best Tires?
I agree with Randy on changing size. You will rarely find any advantage in using a different size tire on a vehicle. Remember that suspension, steering, gearing, and clearance were all engineered to match the size that the manufacturer put on it. As for suggestions of brand, I am a Michelin user and...

Re: Diesel Noise
Mike, I would like to but, the timing doesn't look real good right now. I have to be in Texas during most of April to tend to some of my mother's needs. Am going to sneak off for a few days while I am there to go to the Fredrickberg rally. If everything falls perfectly in place and perfectly on time...

Re: Diesel Noise
Things breaking and other problems we have had are in large part what has brought this group together. Seems like a good trade off to me.

Re: Diesel Engine in our '06 Ford-leak bearing bed plate
Just to add some balance to this discussion, My family owns five Ford diesels. A 2001, two 2006s, one 2008, and one 2009. Over 800,000 miles total so far with no major problems and only minor repairs.

Re: I hate to admit it but......
No way! As I said, I wouldn't trade my Ford for the Dodge or anything else for that matter. I just wanted to comment on a product that I found to be better than I had originally thought. I still have that Blue Oval tattoed on my behind and I expect that it will stay there!

I hate to admit it but......
Just recently returned from several days in Colorado where we met some friends from Illinois. Most of the running around that we did while there was in their Dodge Mega Cab since it has more room than my Super Cab. I've got to admit that the Dodge is a darn good truck. Now don't get me wrong, I woul...

Re: High tire temperatures
My Michelin Ribs are running between 125 (front axle) and 135 (rear axle). I wouldn't be the least bit concerned with any temp less than 150. You will see some variation side to side on hot days if the sun is shining mostly on one side. Weight distibution will also cause a variation, as will alignme...

Re: Walmart "Camping"
I have stayed in WalMart lots on a few occassions and always found them to be very RV friendly. Even had the manager send out morning coffee a couple of times. Just remember to ask permission and keep in mind that some communities have local ordinances against it. I try to return the favor by buying...

Re: Generator necessary?
We had an Onan Microquite installed when we bought our rig. We use it occasionally to power the a/c and microwave when stopping at roadside parks for lunch. It has come in handy when doing repairs and such since I can't park anywhere near my house. Can't honestly say that we have gotten our monies w...

Nice truck, Jeff. I see you got it from Kieffe & Sons in Mojave. Next time you are at the dealer, tell Rick I said "hello".

Seems to me that the market for this thing would be pretty small. Must have a healthy mark-up to make it worth while to build them.

Re: Traveling Without A Spare Tire
It's amazing how time changes things. Back in my younger and more foolish days, I wouldn't have even considered not changing my own tires. I was always in a hurry, strong enough to do it myself, and sure didn't have the spare cash to waste. Now I believe I would rather spend 1/2 a day sitting and st...

Come on Bruce. That's not going way overboard. It's just a natural part of being a Texan.
