Fuel Additive

We are in the planning stages of our first long trip with the Bird. My question to the other diesel drivers out there is, how often you put additive in your fuel when you are on the road. My normal habit is to add some at every fill-up, but haven't been on the road for an extended period yet. Thanks...

For us the large counter & storage space in the kitchen was the deciding factor. When one of us desires a little privacy in the bed/bath area we just close the slider. You'll have to decide where you will be spending the most time when you are in the rig and go from there. Good Luck!!

I have the '06 & '07 brochures and the aluminum trusses are listed as options on both the Cardinal and the LE for both years. We ordered them for our unit and according the the options price list, which I also have, the cost of the trusses was $283.00. Hope this helps..................Marv

We have a plastic container, with lid, for ours. I can put 20' of Blueline hose + fittings along with a grey water hose for back flushing and clean up. When I'm all done with my duties I can throw everything in the container and shut the lid without worrying about drips &/or odors

Ours is the same as Rob's. Nice thing about them is you can bump up their capacity to 20k by adding a couple of braces. Trouble is our truck is only rated to tow just over 16k. I think that would classify as a "catch 22"!!??

I'd like to ask the guys who use the infrared thermometers what kind of temps they're getting on the hubs and treads, and do the tread temps vary depending on tire size? Also, what do the temps have to get to before you start getting nervous?
Thanks.................Marv

I don't mean to sound facetious, but based on the time it takes for mine to run down, I don't see how anybody could stand there holding that button long enough for that to happen??

On my next trip to CW I'm going to get one of those cords with the 30A male/50A female ends. In most cases 30A should be plenty, unless like Mike said we are running two ac's &/or a washer/dryer. That 50A cord FR supplies is a royal pain!!

Joe: Thanks for the great ideas. I would also like to know what you used to attach the water hoses to the door. Also, do you have the awning rod clamped as well, or is it just laying on top of the jack crank??
Looks like I've got to start another shopping list for the Bird!!

2004 owners manual

Guys: The propane system in my rig consists of two tanks, one on either side of the rig. The system is equipped with a Fairview Automatic Changeover Regulator. Assuming I start off with two full tanks, I turn both tanks on and turn the valve on the regulator to one of the tanks, doesn't matter which...

Good news, Bad news

To Rob & Cathy: We are planning on going up to the KOA at Burlington, Wa. for the shake-down cruise. We have some friends who go up there quite often in their class c and have told us its a very nice place. In fact they've asked us to call them when we decide to go as they would like to join us....

Good news. Bad news

OK, I promise this will be my last comment on this subject. It seems the deeper I go the muddier it gets!! Was out in the bird this morning getting serial numbers & such for all the warranty cards when I happened to look up and noticed a corner of the decal next to the smoke detector was peeling...
