Re: Louvered Truck Tailgate

Mythbusters program tested these against factory tailgate up, tailgate down, tailgate removed and nylon webbing. The best mileage was obtained with the factory tailgate up. The best way to improve mileage (when not towing) is to use a tonneau cover. Most of the drag on a pick-up is caused by the vac...

Re: A little stress...me too!

Correct me if I am wrong but most payload numbers already allow for a driver and fuel. I don't think that those weights come out of the payload. It used to be 150lb for the driver (probably a little low for today's slim and attractive drivers?)

Re: Tank Heater

According to my dealer, and several other posters on other sites, if you turn on the tank heater without liquid in the tank, it will melt right through. The designers of these tanks, again according to my dealer, did not antcipate that users would empty their water or waste tanks and leave the heate...

Re: Yellowstone or nearby compground

There is a very nice KOA located 10 miles south of Livingston, Montana. It is a half hour drive from the historic north entrance to the park. And the best thing - the proprieter is a Cardinal owner. The campground is right beside the Yellowstone River - great spot - been there several times...

Re: Tools to take along

I don't know if he means extension cords or booster cables but...bring booster cables too. If you happen to run your battery down and you can't get your slides in you can use the truck battery to do the trick. Learned the hard way...

Re: Never Moving Again

Don, I never thought about having to buy a lot here in this park. If you purchase a park model or other semi-permanent unit, the management requires you to buy or long-term lease the lot - not rent month to month like I do. That being said, however, I spoke to a single woman today (new neighbor) who...

Never Moving Again

Having used my trailer as a primary residence for the past three years, I have noticed a change in the pattern of use of fifth wheels (and MH's.) There are 6 Cardinals and 2 Cedar Creeks in this park. Mine is the only one that is road-worthy. (Just give me two hours to drop my collapsable shed and p...

Re: Towing License?

Manitoba requires a class 3 licence the same as BC and Ontario . Towing over 10,000 lbs requires a special licence with a written and driving test. Walk around inspection prior too the drivers test. If you fail the walk around you dont even get to do the drivers test . Got my Cardinal in Aug 09 and...

Ready for WW3

Our campgound neighbor (been here three days) introduced himself by asking if we had been bothered by his two large and unfriendly dogs. They are Akitas (never heard of them.) I told him no. We chatted a bit and he asked me if I was interested in guns. I said that I had had a 22 back in my younger y...

I'm just going to avoid all left turns until I get it fixed. My new GPS unit should be able to help with route planning.

Dodge Recall

Apparently Chrysler has announced to the media that they are recalling a quarter million trucks to fix a front end ball joint that might fail...called the dealership this morning and they said that they have heard nothing from Chrysler. I guess they tell the media first and then let the dealers and ...
