Congratulations on your new Cardinal, it’s always fun getting something new. We just ordered a 2008 and are just waiting for it to arrive. I’ve been a bit concerned about the tires that come on the Cardinal. I wrote the company and today did get a reply from a Terry Milarczky. This is what he said, ...

Thanks for the information, I just looked at the web site for the Rotochok and it looks like a great idea. I’m leaning towards a Reese 18K Signature Series hitch. It will carry 18,000 lb gross / 4,500 pin weight capacities, 4 degree side to side head pivot and will work in the 8’ bed that we have or...

5th Wheel Stuff

OK, we’ve order our new Cardinal, what are the extras we need, specifically for a 5th wheels. Things like grill, chairs, sewer and water hoses are common to RVing, but what do we need to purchase that is common to the 5th wheel? We’ve used Camping World in the past for most of our things, what other...

Cardinal Factory

How do you contact the Cardinal factory? I’ve checked the web site for them and I’m unable to find an e-mail address, phone number or an address. Has anyone every taken their rig directly to the factory for work? How did that work out? The reason I ask is we have owned Winnebago and Holiday Rambler ...

We just ordered a new Cardinal this week. I just checked at the Forest River web site and I can't see a way of contacting them. I called my dealer and he said they have not had any reports of tire problems this year. Does anyone know what tires they are using on 2008 models?

Thanks

Long Box vs Short Box?

We’re ordering a 2008, 2500 Chevy Duramax extended cab with a long box to pull a 2008 30TS Cardinal. The GVWR is 14080 and the hitch weight is 2080. My wife had polio when she was younger and it comes back in what is called post polio. Because of this we need to find the smoothest ride I can for her...

Order Our New Bird Today

Today we ordered a 2008 30TS. We would like to thank all the members of this forum for their help and great information that you provided. Based on your input we did make changes from what we first were thinking about. For example we ordered the thermo-pane glass instead of the single, had the wirin...

Thanks again for all the help. Monday we are meeting with our dealer here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota area. But maybe I should check with your dealers if ours is a  lot higher.

I would prefer to buy from the local dealer and also willing to pay a bit more, but not $1000's

Thanks Donpop, The price infomation would be helpful. For example I see the list price for the upgrade in insulated glass is $1,500, but you gave a price of $1,000 is there that much mark up? Is there a % I can use off of list price to come up with a selling price that I should offer? As I said we p...

What Options Should We Get?

The research is done and it’s decision time. We have decided that a Cardinal model 30 ST will best meet our needs. The Cardinal comes standard with a lot of what is needed, that we found were extras with other companies. The only draw back is we are unable to reach the refrigerator when the slides a...

Thanks to all of you for the great information. My wife and I are heading of to the North Shore of Lake Superior for the week. It will give us some time to think about all we've learned over the last 6 months of studying 5th wheels. At this point we are thinking we will order the 30 ST and a one ton...

Which One To Order

Hi Everyone, I’m new to your form and also new to 5th wheels. My wife and I are retired and for the last 10 years we have been RVing. We’ve had four motor homes and full time for a little over a year. Three years ago we bought a cottage on a lake in Minnesota to be by our family. About a year ago we...
