Cardinal RV Club

This must be the reason the Canadians have taken over the camp grounds in Florida. I called yesterday to make a reservation at a camp ground and the phone greeting was repeated in French.

We have been here in Corpus Christi for about two weeks, we can extend our stay here till the 11th if we want. Looking at the long range weather I think we are going to leave here on the 1st and head east to Florida. Id like to make my way down to Key West and spend a few weeks there.

Has anyone stayed at Isla Blanca park on Padre Island. We were thinking about going down that way for a week or so. Any comment would be welcome.

I change the oil every 5k and the fuel filter once every year. The indicator on the truck shows lots of service left but 5k is enough. Right know the truck is in the garage loaded and ready to roll. My O8 does the same thing, I went to a GM truck dealer when it was new and they explained the fan noise. I have also seen this on heavy pulls up mountains and during really hot weather. I leave mine in tow haul and just increase the speed till it shifts to 6th gear, then i just slow down to about 62 at which time the rpm is about 1600. That way if I come to an hill it will down shift sooner.

I have been pulling just as you do, in Drive tow haul mode, I also get 11 mpg. When not towing around town Im seeing about 15. The only issue I see is you loose the benefits of the tow haul mode in M.

Thanks for the welcome, this is really a nice park, were right by the 16 green on the south course. Going to the RV show this morning and look around. I have seen three cardinals in the park, are you one of them?

Thank god I can still do my own maintenance. I did have the issue with a new chev van, they had paint on the gasket and it stuck when I removed the filter. Made quite a mess but I caught it before it was to bad. I alway check the gasket/oring now when I change my oil.

Spotted a cardinal headed south just North of Bradford pa yesterday. Nice looking rig, anyone from our site?

Mine seem to be best at 4, when I first started towing the trailer I had it a little less, but found that 4.5 was much better when stopping.

On my way home I spotted a Cardinal headed north on 219 in Bradord, towed by a GMC. Anyone in the club?
