Re: ALLISON TRANSMISSION SERVICE

I changed my fluid and used Allison's TranSynd fluid. According to their web site, the spin on filter is the only one that needs changed. http://www.allisontransmission.com/service/faq/index.jsp?CategoryID=11#97 Q. Filters - How many filters are there and when do they need to be changed? A. The Alli...

Re: Top 10 RV Parks

Most of the time I have to agree with the camping directories (most of the time). I have stayed at some that the camping directory said was really good and wasn't and then there are those you just can't help but think Man, how did they miss this one (a real gem). When looking for a RV park I try to ...

Re: Hitch Noise

I started out with a Reese then went to an air ride hitch. Both of them pop, squeak and sound like they're coming out of the bed. I too have check, lubed, adjusted and tighted. And it still makes noise. :((

Re: Weight Limit

You're right. Commercial registration goes according to GVWR. Depending on which state you're standing in, your tow vehicle may or may not be considered commercial (at least commercial rated). Case in point, when I had my 3500 registered in Florida, they saw it as a commercial rated vehicle and the ...

Re: Weight Limit

If I am understanding your question, no. Weights and capacities limits are set by the manufacturer and cannot be changed. Governments register vehicles according to the information, provided by the manufacturer, that is on the title. That being said, you purchase tags for your truck according to the...

Re: Michigan to Cherokee NC with I-40 closed

I assume you'll be coming down I-75. When you hit Knoxville, take I-81 North to I-26 which will take you into Ashville, NC. I-40 is closed at the TN/NC border.

Re: GM P/U Rear End WARNING!!!

When you purchase a new vehicle the "Dealer Prep" charge is for checking ALL fluids, road testing, washing & detailing the vehicle. Most dealers only wash the vehicle before it is delivered. I checked mine (after reading a simular post on the Chevy owner's web site) and found it to be ...

Re: Walmart Oil Change

I've never tried this but has anyone ever asked a place like AutoZone? If you purchase the oil from them maybe they'll let you change it in the parking lot (ask first). And most recycle oil so you have a place to drop off the old oil.
Just a suggestion. :-?
