Lake Charles State Park-Arkansas

We've driven about 600 miles on our new disk brakes and IS suspension. Sure makes for a nice ride. Made it to Lake Charles State Park in NE Arkansas. I must say that we’re impressed with the camping facilities in Arkansas State Parks. Not all but most state parks in this state have full hook ups. Ye...

Re: Fort Worden SP with the grandkids.

It's a great park, we were there a few years ago and plan on heading back next summer. I love the town of Port Townsend. Enjoy

Re: West Coast 101

A few years ago we made the trip on 101 north of SF all the way to Port Townsend, WA, it was great. The only thing I recall was in Oregon pulling in for fuel and this guy coming out telling me he had to fill up our rig, that I couldn’t do it myself. Actually it’s a nice service.

Re: Where to stay this winter

We spent a month at Tombstone Territories RV in Hauchuca City, AZ (southeast AZ). It is out in the high desert, we liked the park because of the seclusion and quiet, along with great scenery. We will be there in Jan -Feb for 2013. Then we are moving to DeAnza Rv about an hour south of Tucson. It is...

Re: Where to stay this winter

Depends on what you like, last year we stayed at Palm Creek RV Resort in Casa Grande. It’s a big park with all kinds of activities about an hour south of Phoenix. If you like something smaller we like Eagle View near Fountain Hills, just east of Scottsdale. This year we are thinking of staying in th...

Cost To Replace A Light.

Took our Chevy in for and oil change before we head out on a trip. I asked the dealer to replace the blub on a running light on the roof that is burned out. He called before he replaced it to check the price with me. Glad he did, he can’t replace the blub can only replace the fixture. Cost $110—told...

Re: Mileage per day

It kind of depends on how you like to travel and when you need to be at your destination. In our care we like the travel more than the final destination for the most part. We take back roads whenever we can and explore. Most days we travel 200 to maybe 300 miles, than stay a few days before moving o...

Transmission Cooler

Most of our travels are in the winter. I see that my transmission temperature on the warm days we had a week ago would reach 190 degrees on some grades, coming from California east. I was wondering what would happen during hot summer days? Is the stock transmission cooler good enough for the summer ...

Re: REESE 20 K hitch

I bought a new hitch and the dealer that installed it for me took my old 18K Reese on consignment. It took several months but he paid me $800. He said that because he got to install it and do some other work for the person buying it that he was happy with the deal. I don’t know what he sold the hitc...

Natural Gas Fuel

I was reading in a newsletter from my old company that at one location they have opened a new compressed natural gas fueling station to fuel the locations truck fleet. They are converting the diesel feet over at this location. It cost on average $11,000 per truck to convert to this alternative fuel ...
