Re: Dodge Ram

I can tell you it is not all about tow ratings, my Topkick was rated to tow 32,000 lbs with the 3000 Alison, it may could have pulled 32,000 but at what speed is the question. Mike needed to wait for me on the other side of the hill for five minutes, I was max out at 35 mph with a combined weight of...

Re: Dodge Ram

Well I will say just one thing and get out of the discussion, I don't think GM needs more HP to stay in the tow ratings game because I have not seen any of the other brands pass me up on the long hard pulls with a trailer my size or smaller.

Re: Dodge Ram

I had the Allison 3000 in my GMC Topkick, I found my new GM Pickup with the Allison 1000 is just as strong with a better shift range.
Allison shop tells me the 1000 Allison is stronger then what the engines on the market today can produce.

Re: 2007 RKLE For Sale

Donna, We sold our unit on Craig's List, it sold in six days at the listed price and we had two couples show up at the same time. The couple that bought it called me out the trailer and said tell the other couple looking it is sold, I had the same problem with brokers calling to help sell the camper...

Re: 2006 F250 PSD

Mike,
I think you looking for a lot out the code reader devise, even resetting the active code will not keep it off if the fault remains active.
I am not sure but I think have not seen the over the counter units display the problem code in words of the problem like the dealer units.

Re: PullRite Superglide hitch question

It was a square piece I made from a sheet purchased at McMaster-Carr, you really do not need it.

Re: PullRite Superglide hitch question

Keith, I went back and looked, I put 1/16" teflon on the adaptor plate, you do not need it but I had custom painted my hitch to match the trailers paint.
The teflon prevented it from being scratched during hookup.

Re: PullRite Superglide hitch question

I need to think about if I used a teflon disc, I am thinking now that I made a square teflon pad for easy sliding during hook up.
But you all are correct the plate turns the hitch.

Re: PullRite Superglide hitch question

The factory pins are a standard length, add a 1/4" for the Pull Rite adapter and if you have teflon plate the pin becomes tight on the jaws of the hitch, that is why I use to leave the trailer down a little when backing into the hitch. When I say straight, it is design to hook up at a slight an...

Re: PullRite Superglide hitch question

I used that setup for a few years, if the truck is not straight with the trailer it can be a pain. It works better when the trailer is a little lower then the trucks hitch or it does want to lock in place. The same unhitching applies for being straight, I had to lift the hitch out of the truck with ...

Re: Does anyone dry camp?

Gary, If you have two batteries it will increase the time use, on that calculation form put in the total amp per hour and it will calculate total hours of use pulling watts needed to run your requirements. Like I said the dealers install the battery, I do not know if FR requires a certain battery si...

Re: Does anyone dry camp?

Gary, The dealer installs the battery so you will need to know the battery amps you have and use this calculation chart to determine battery drain. I would guess that your residential refrigerator requires 700- 800 watts to run. Click on (How long will the battery last) http://www.inverters.com/page...

Re: RAM pickup hitch options.

I have the flip over ball hitch and remove the ball and install the companion 5th hitch in the hole, you slip the pin in and tighten the jab bolt on top.
Very easy to remove and install the hitch in the truck.
