Re: Bayfield Riverview Resort, Bayfield,Co

Rick, Sandy: Bayfield does look like a great campground. They apparently don’t post their rates. Do you recall their nightly rate?
Thanks

Re: Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch?

Thanks for the good review.

Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch?

Currently I am using a Superglide auto slide.hitch for my F350 shortbed. Met a guy towing with an Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch. He couldn’t say enough good about it.
Does anyone on this board have any experience towing their 5th wheel with an Andersen birch?

New Truck Tires?

I have about 32000 miles in my 2012 F350 SRW Cooper tires. They have been good tires but were initially purchased because we still faced the snowy Colorado winters and needed a more aggressive tread. Today we live in N.C. where snow is non existent. I am starting to consider new tires as these are w...

Re: BG245

I used BG once at the recommendation of a mechanic. It wasn’t cheap. Did it work, who knows but I never had an injector problem. :bounce: :bounce: I do know BG products have a good reputation. Personally I use Sea Foam once every 6 months in my diesel truck and gas cars, motorcycle. I also use it ev...

Re: 4WD or 2WD vehicle???

Rick, I only tow my Cardinal and rarely a small utility trailer. Now that we live in North Carolina (instead of Colorado) where it snows 2 inches twice per winter, the argument that I need 4x4 for is out the window. I have used The 4 high to maneuver in a camping space. Biggest thing going forward i...

4WD or 2WD vehicle???

Curious as to whether most people who tow own a truck with 4WD or 2WD? I currently have a F-350 4WD and caught myself looking at a new truck today. It was 4WD but the salesman was recommending 2WD for towing big rigs because of increased capacity. Doesn’t make sense but there are wiser people than m...

Re: Expect a dramatic rise in cost of diesel in the next yea

Such pessimism about the Green New Deal  I am looking forward to trading my F350 Diesel for an Electric Vehicle that can tow my 14000 lb rig 500 miles / day. I hope AOC also mandates that I get full value for the Diesel Truck!

Expect a dramatic rise in cost of diesel in the next year

Evidently ships at sea have to convert to the low sulpher diesel that our trucks use today. This will be a huge impact on demand and drive costs up. How much????? This CNBC article gives the details: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/01/biggest-change-in-fuel-since-leaded-gas-went-away-could-raise-prices...

Fort Fisher, Wilmington NC

For those who are retired military, I recommend Fort Fisher in Kuru Beach, Wilmington NC. this is an inexpensive campground $25/night that has large sites but not many....about 20 spots. There are also about 20 almost new 1, 3 and 4 bedroom "cabins" that go for about $110/night. It is very...

Receceived this article today and thought someone considering a 2018 truck may find some value in the writeup.

Re: Short Box or Long Box

Mopar, I really like having a short bed truck as 90% of my truck driving is without the 5th wheel connected. My 2012 Ford F350 only had a 26 gallon fuel tank...totally unsat for a tow vehicle, so I exchanged the OEM fuel tank with a Titan midship tank that is 50 gallons and is under the bed vs being...

2013-2017 Dodge 3500 6.7L recall

I saw on the news that Chrysler-Fiat issued a recall this week for over 500,000 heavy duty Rams with the 6.7L engine. Not sure of the details but the problem was due to a water pump starting fires.
