Re: Leaving for Canada
I live in British Columbia in the fall and winter. I am through and around the Banff area very often. Like many big cities, RV park choices are limited around Calgary. The national parks require a pass to enter, even if you are not camping - the best deal is an annual pass if you're going to be in t...

Re: Pretty Low
For what it's worth - a Newell goes for at least 1.5 million and the Lincoln and trailer has got to be 75K...plus tax but who's counting...KOA fee 38 bucks

Pretty Low
Having just finished a marathon trip through western Canada and mid-western US - a quick observation...I saw a beautiful Newell class A ($$$$) with a Lincoln Navigator on a trailer come into a KOA for the night after the office closed. While enjoying my first coffee early the next morning, I see thi...

Re: Scary Contradiction!
I'm starting to wonder if there are any electric over hydraulic disc brake systems that don't work with the original Prodigy! Even though Tekonsha didn't design it to work it seems that the major brake manufacturers did engineer their products to be compatable. Either way, that info should be correc...

Re: Scary Contradiction!
Well, I heard back from Tekonsha - Apparently, I have the original Prodigy brake controller - not the P2 ...The P2 was designed to work with all electric over hydraulic disc brakes and replaced the original in Jan. 2010. The original Prodigy (although it says in the manual that it won't work with EH...

Scary Contradiction!
Like many RV owners, I have a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller. I've used it for more than a year without trouble. It was chosen and installed for me by a reputable RV tech who does warranty work for FR. He also installed my brake system. I just found in the manual that this unit is NOT designed...

Re: Tow Vehicle Battery Question...
Just for clarification...I understand, now, that the TV batteries probably will not provide enough power through the cable to run the slides. Questions - Do the batteries on the TV charge the trailer batteries when going down the road (trickle charge?) Do the brake and lights circuits for the traile...

Re: Tow Vehicle Battery Question...
I was a little concerned about how much juice needs to be left in the trailer's batteries to operate the slides - the manual says that they need full power. I checked, with a tester, to see if there is any current from the TV cable if the engine is shut off - none - as everyone has said - works only...

Tow Vehicle Battery Question...
Anyone happen to know if the tow vehicle's battery powers the trailer's 12V circuits if you leave the cable between the two vehicles hooked up while dry camping? I know that the old travel and tent trailers decades ago got all their 12V power off the car battery (no battery on some of the old traile...

Re: Campground Downturn
I was in Myrtle Beach in Aug. '98. The Canadian dollar was worth 57 cents U.S. Business was worried about the lack of Canadian customers.

Campground Downturn
Here in British Columbia, Canada, there is, apparently, a concern about the greatly reduced number of tourist visits by our American friends. Our park owner (a prominent member of an RV park association) says that there is considerable worry about the lack of RVer's planning to visit this year. Numb...

Re: Towing with 3500 6.7 AUTO RAM
Absolutely...I was referring to reverse. If you let the clutch engage completely in reverse, you will be moving at a speed far too high to do any fine maneuvering...my experience anyway.

Re: Towing with 3500 6.7 AUTO RAM
My 2 cents - I wondered why the G56 manual wasn't available with the 4:10 rear - only 3:51 or 3:73 - mine has the 3:73 - the manual 6speed has a super low first gear and lower gearing throughout - I found out how much low end grunt this truck had the first time I had to start on a steep hill withou...
