Re: Extended Warranty
Your question doesn't indicate who is providing the coverage, so let me blather a little here and maybe offer some information that may be of interest to you and others on the forum. I spent three years as as a claims manager for an independent warranty and service contract company ( nobody in their...

Re: Wide open for suggestions
Seems to me like you got a full load of real good advice. How about all of you run for congress so we can get some common sense in D.C.

Re: 6.0 L ford questions
Just to get my two cents in. I am a retired FOMOCO employee but could drive a truck made by Chev or Dodge with no problems. I own an '06 F250. Love the truck and couldn't ask for anything more. The only problem I have had was a sticking EGR valve and that didn't really cause any major inconveniance....

Re: F 250 Headlight problem
I think Matt probably has the solution for you. It has been my experiance that a huge percentage of electrical problems can be traced back to a bad ground. One other thing that you might consider is the light being badly out of adjustment. If, for whatever reason, it is pointed too far down, it will...

Re: Turbo Problems
I don't know how much of a problem this has been but, Chevy has a TSB bulletin concerning this on the 2007 models. Don't know if also applies to 2008.

Re: 2008 Ford F 250 power stroke questions
If the bed is too high you can change the rear spring blocks from the standrd F350 4inch to the 2inch that come on the F250. It's a common practice and approved by Ford. Congratulations on the new ride.

Re: 2008 Ford F 250 power stroke questions
Being aware of my own bias, I try to keep quiet when the discussion gets into what truck or engine is best. Sometimes though, I feel like I can stay off of my soapbox and still add something to the conversation. I spent 18 years working for Ford Motor Co. and got up close and personal with the truck...

Re: Mt Rushmore / Black Hills
Thanks for the suggestion Bruce. We are so used to coming and going whenever we want that I had completely forgotten about the school year.

Mt Rushmore / Black Hills
We are thinking of taking a few days this spring or summer to see the area around Mt Rushmore. Any suggestions about the best time of the year to visit would be appreciated.

Re: New Tow Vehicle?
First let me disclose my bias in favor of Ford. I retired 2 years ago after a long and satisfying career with Ford Motor Co. I have owned and driven Fords all of my adult life and can honestly say that I have never had a serious problem with any of them. With that said, I also have friends that say ...

I don't think either way will have any detrimental effect on the transmission. Using the tow/haul mode will change the shift point and will prevent the transmission from hunting for the optimal gear so much as the load changes. On mine I have found that using it all of the time when I am towing has ...

I've put about 7600 on the trailer and 18000 on the TV since last January. Am itching to hit the road again, but looks like it will be a few more weeks before we can. DW says we (I think she means me) need to finish painting the house inside and out so we can get it on the market this spring. Have b...
