Re: Dometic Americana Refrigerator Recall

Thanks for sharing the information Jim. I've already had the safety items added to mine but I can't call it a fix. It's good when safety items are refreshed and brought to our attention because there could be more newer members of the club that have not heard of them yet.

Re: New Ford owners...

Rob..So just wondering....do you have to "Tell it" when you hook to , and unhook, or does it sense it somehow???? It would be really neat if it somehow used the resistance on a particular load....to know which trailer, and when it is used................do you know???? B-) It's my underst...

Re: Rock Tamers Mud Flaps

I've had Rock Tamers since about 2003. When I purchased my current truck I was able to get new flaps (truck sits higher) at a reasonable cost. They have a wide range of adjustments that you can make. On my trucks the exhaust pointed out the side. I would keep an eye on the flap if the exhaust pipe p...

Re: Tank Heater

I believe CCC is saying that it is easier to flush the toilet if the hose is connected. I don't know CCC's model of Cardinal but if it is a "park" model, there is no black tank so you have to have a hose connected to use it. A few years ago when we camp-hosted at a park that had a lot of p...

Re: Tank Heater

If you are already on a full hook-up site you could just leave a little water running in a sink that you can leave the drain valve open on. At 25 degrees you won't have a problem with water freezing in the tanks causing harm especially if it is just an overnight low temp. It is supposed to drop to 2...

Check out Centramatics. http://centramatic.com/Home.aspx Check around for best price. I really like mine on the truck and bird.

Re: GM to Offer 8-speed Transmission

When I googled "new gm 8 speed transmission" the results showed up like gm is behind Ford and Ram on doing it. A little closer gear ratio change in the upper gears would be nice if it don't constantly hunt for a gear. The articles imply that Ford and GM are going to build their own with GM...

Re: FORD does it agian

I've had several Ford pick-ups and a Chevy but never towed campers with them. This has been many years ago and my price range for used trucks didn't allow consideration of Doges because of rusting. As has been said before it comes down to personal preferences on what you buy. I bought a new Chevy be...

Re: FORD does it agian

Before the trucks wars get crazy I think you are comparing apples and oranges. The sales figures are for the 150s and 1500s. There are probably not very many of them pulling Cardinals. Are there any sales figures out there relevant to the 250s 2500s or 350s 3500s that we use. I think it is great tha...

Re: Coiled Outside Shower Water House

You can get a brass fitting adapter to go from the 1/2" pipe thread to the garden hose thread. That is how I hook up my water supply hoses to the RV so I can sanitize them when doing the rest of the fresh water system.

Bruce, you should get to factor in the use of your smart car in your overall average mpg since you carry it with you while towing. The rest of us use our tow vehicle to get around with at destinations which raises the overall average. :thumbrt:
