Re: Ford's numbers are increasing

I was told this weekend that the resaon why so many Fords are sold is because they are always breaking down and their owners just go out and buy another =)) If that was true I'd be walking! I'm been running gas and diesel Ford's for years, the only problem I've had are the tires on the trucks getti...

Re: Ford's numbers are increasing

That sounds about right with the 2013s coming out shortly. I bought mine in September last year and the dealers up here were giving $10,000 off sticker and other incentives. Rob I've seen the same here in SoCal. Inventory reduction, getting cash so the the dealer can order the new models. Pretty co...

Re: Ford's numbers are increasing

Guess I'll keep my old 2005 FL for many years (and the dash display does what I want i.e. telling me how fast, how hot, pressures, & how much further). Unless I see a great deal on a long nose Pete with 600+ hp, 1850+ tq, dual 6" stove pipe exhausts, & an auto-shift at a great price, t...

Re: Ford's numbers are increasing

Gotta be the blankety blank LIPS!

And thinking about it, the GMC trucks have a pretty good set of "LIPS" too! But, you'll never catch me buying one!!! Chevy's grill reminds me of Cal Worthington's smile, "So go see Cal and his dog Spot!" :ymhug:

Re: Well I went and done it!

Bill, Nice ride. :thumbrt: I had a 1970 340 - 6 pack Duster - Triple black. Wife hated the car. I know. I should have kept it. :( Funny, they like 'em before you get hitched! =)) When I bought a new 2002 Mustang convertible, dark red with a black top, 6 cyl/5 speed home, Terry flipped! She really h...

Re: New 3500HD Diesel acting up

With the water detector on the first fuel filter, and it's supposed to be checked every oil change, I haven't checked mine. So far, 2 oil and filter changes in 11,000 miles. One on schedule, another one a week later because instead of a cap on the oil filler tube, I found a funnel, and a mess when I...

Re: Well I went and done it!

It'll handle your Cardinal without breathing hard. I just got home after a 3K mile trip to Washington. Lots of mountains, flat running and heat. Today I went over Tehachapi Pass (elev 4100') with the 'Bird, mostly at 60 mph in 95+ degree temps. A walk in the park. Got stuck a couple of times by big...

An extra 50 gallons, plus the 36 gallons with the long wheel base is nice! :d

Re: 2500 Duramax to 3500 Duramax DRW

Mine always shows 100% also, that is the only reading that seems to never work on the Edge Insight. I just hit 6,000 miles this week on my truck and got the best fuel milage I ever seen on the truck while towing (11.6 MPG on a 480 mile trip). Pretty close to my overall mileage towing George. 11.7 t...

Re: 2500 Duramax to 3500 Duramax DRW

I filled the DEF around 500 miles before we started the trip, then I decided to see how far I could go. LOT'S of miles.
At 400 to go, the truck becomes a NAG!

Re: 2500 Duramax to 3500 Duramax DRW

You don't get a percentage, at 400 miles to DEF empty the dash display starts telling you how many miles to no DEF every time you start up, and while you're driving. I pulled the 'Bird somewhere around 1700 miles, maybe 2000 (I wasn't keeping close track), to Pacific Beach, WA, back home and some dr...

Re: Mileage per day

I've pulled the 'Bird 500 - 600 miles in a day, but stayed put for a day or two after that. Pulling a big trailer demands a lot from a driver, which is why commercial truck drivers have Federal limits on how many hours they can work, and mandatory rest before they can get behind the wheel again. I'd...

Re: Well I went and done it!

Jeff, as you said "Just a walk in the park". Today we were on some long grades and it amazed me as to how obvious it is that the truck doesn't have to work hard, this thing is amazing! The torque converter hardly comes out of lockup, forget downshifting to a lower gear. Tomorrow will comp...
