Re: SRW vs. DRW

Rob, You're right on the money, the lighter regular cab gasser SRW 2WD has the highest payload not necessarily the highest tow rating.

Re: SRW vs. DRW

Like Mike said, the main concern is the weight in the bed over the rear axle. Would not be as concerned about how much it can tow. It's all about a safe payload. As long as you weigh your rig fully loaded and ready for a long trip and the weight doesn't exceed the payload limits for your truck you a...

Re: My new 2011 Silverado 3500

Mike, Sounds like everything working fine that's certainly good news.
When you say YES they have had the brake controller since '08 are you also saying that it comes as standard equipment with the LTZ and not an addtional opption?

Re: My new 2011 Silverado 3500

Mike, Hate to hear the difficulty in installing the hitch. You're lucky to have George to help. Guess the RV dealers will charge an arm and a leg to do the installation for us non-do-it-yourselfers. Were you able to get your rig level this morning? If so, how did it tow and how did the integrated br...

Re: Drove a 2011 Silverado

Mike, Nice truck. Did you end up with the LT truck you drove first or the LTZ?
Are those wheels the 18s or 20s?

Re: Drove a 2011 Silverado

Mike, Do you have the DPN Camper stye mirrors (which are manual extendable) (MSRP $48) or the 6P3 mirrors (which are remote control, power extendable)(MSRP $243)?

Re: Drove a 2011 Silverado

Mike, Was it a crew or extended cab? I'm interested in a 3500 SRW extended cab but the dealers here are telling me they haven't started production on them yet.

Re: Corps of Engineers--information needed

Most Corps parks are 1/2 price based on Golden Age Passports. The Corps has started contracting out the running of the campgrounds, I haven't been to one yet that hasn't accepted it. The Guide to Corps of Engineers Campgrounds gives you all the info you need for each of the parks. I purchased on lin...

Elkhart

I noticed the threads about the rally have disappeared. I was looking for the name of the campground the rally was held. I only see one listed in TL - Elkhart CG. We will be heading that way and would like to tour the factory.

Thanks
Kim

I guess the only silver lining to Exxon making so much money is that they paid over $30 billion in taxes.

George, I think my post was probably confusing. I have not even taken delivery of my unit yet. I had ordered wood plank(cost) flooring AND full vinyl in LR(no cost). Since you can't have both (which salesman didn't realize and ordered as such) caused a major confusion at the factory. Instead of maki...

Yes Linda, we know of whom you speak. We used him when Berryland was in Pontchatoula. Craig, in the rear kitchen models, they run the vinyl (wood plank or tile) from the kitchen to the door. Carpet is in the slide and normally under the chairs by the window. So only a strip down the middle is vinyl....
