Re: Air Lift Air Springs

Have had Air Lift now for more than three years and about 60,000 miles and they are excellent. Do have the compressor which makes it easy. Run 15 psi empty and 45 psi with the 5W.

Re: Towing in Mountains

Just had a fun time taking the auto road up to the top of Mt. Washington in NH. finally got a decent day without too many clouds and great visibility. It was very interesting. DW didn't enjoy it very much, especially when passing cars going the other way---some of them were trying to use our side of...

Re: Diesel Prices

In the middle of NY right now--Utica and the prices have been $2.69 to 3.03 for the last three fillups. A four cent decrease a couple of days ago, first in several weeks.

Re: Trucks

Larry, Most forums including this one have tons of "opinions" on tow vehicles. Checkout rv.net and escapees.com at least. The big trick is to match all the weight requirements like hitchpin, Gross vehicle weights, etc. Generally car salesmen are worthless, do it yourself. We're maxed out w...

Recent fuel price increase

When I got our morning newspapers today in Opelika AL at the truck stop which is the local area price leader, had a real shock. Diesel had jumped from $1.86 to $2.13 overnight! Oil had only gone up a few cents a barrel. Don't like it.

Re: Opinions on BANKS intake/exhaust after market systems

Put dually exhaust on )not Banks). No increase in mpg while towing and maybe .3-.5 mpg empty, but a noticeable increase in power. Just put on the Banks intake and not change in mpg; slightly more power (which was great just stock). The exhaust also knocked down the EGT by 50-75 degrees which I think...

Re: AIR BAGS AND TORSION KEYS

Don't know about torsion keys, but the airbags will give you no problem as you can hook up with the air dumped and pump the airbags us after you hook up. Would sugget an onboard compressor. Have used the airbags to adjust 5W height a bit, especially when the jacks didn't work.

Re: Why hasn't the cost of motor oil fallen?

Yes, I meant per gal! Did see a price break at one Sam's Club, but at no others. Think rotella was $35.xx for three gallons, but Delo was down to $56.00 for six gallons. Maybe the down trend with follow. They had no problem going up.

Why hasn't the cost of motor oil fallen?

Haven't shopped everywhere, but don't see the price of motor oil falling with the cost of oil and fuel. Delo 400 and Rotella still running about $12/ quart. Anyone got a line on cheaper motor oil?

Truck tire problems?

Not a good day, but maybe it was. Sorry, this story is a bit long. Two summers ago in MI had a flat tire which had to be replaced. Went to Walmart and got a Goodyear Tracker 2 and put it on as the spare, firguring to replace the rest with the same tire when the time came. The time came in Portland O...

NO BRAKES!!

Guess this is a cautionary tale. Had 4" dual exhaust installed on Mr. Truck in hopes of better fuel economy (and neater sound). It was a tight fit. Had taken it to an exhaust shop and got an estimate so they saw the truck before ordering parts and starting work. They had a lot of problems getti...

Biodiesel also greatly reduces pollution from the tailpipe. Remember that Rudolph Diesel designed his engine to run on vegetable oil, not petroleum. Maybe it is time to go back?!?

Still doesn't understand that she has to see me in the mirror for me to see her. I get out a lot if it is a tight space--love pull thrus. Now we have a GPS so I don't hav...

Yeah! We're in our new SB 35

Picked up our 2008 35 SB over last weekend. We had cancelled our order because of the change in floorpalns which put the w/d in the front closet. We had to compromise some, but the unit is very nice, especially now that we are getting settled. Can't believe we have so much stuff. Still getting organ...

We have been insured by Foremost for nearly 15 yrs. and they have been great. Unfortunately we have had some claims and never had any difficulty getting paid. No fuss.
