Re: F-350 Diesel Particulate Filter
Dana, I do know that on my 2012 F350 I am supposed to have the coolant checked every 15K miles for the efficacy of the additives. They literally do a litmus paper test and then add the rust inhibitors as required. The coolant is not required to be changed at that time....although it may be cheaper t...

Re: Prodigy Controller - Short Code
Don, you didn't say but is the SH code only when towing or is it also occurring when driving unhitched? If it is only when hitched, I like the ground wire theory.

If you are a full-timer or someone similar this is a magnificent truck to pull your large 5th wheel or trailer. 25K actual miles on a vehicle that can go 1Million miles. I can vo...

Creede Colorado
I want to recommend a place where Sherry and I camped this past weekend. It is named Mountain View at Rivers Edge, located in Creede CO. http://www.mountainviewsrv.com/ Price was $41/night for 30 amp and because it is so cool during the day you dont need much AC. 50 Amp costs $43/night. The campgrou...

Re: chugging motion seems to be worse with new 5th airborne
Stuart, on my 2004 1/2 Dodge 3500 I had Firestone RideRite airbags installed and ran the pressure at 25 lbs when towing and 15 lbs when not towing. I think you are on to the problem with your rear end so stiff the 5th Airborne is being countermanded. BTW, I am installing the Firestone RideRites this...

Re: Ford 2002 7.3 check engine light
I have 34K miles on my 2012 F350. Other than a very frustrating emission control sensor failure that left me stranded I have been very impressed with the 6.7 engine. I have found the transmission to be amazing and the manual option is handy for towing passes like Wolfcreek. The 6.7 engine and tranny...

On Colo Hwy 9 heading towards Fairplay.
Looked like they were probably going to go over Hoosier Pass into Breckenridge and then I-70.

Re: Pin Box Adjustment
John, first I hope you have someone to help you! This is definitely a two person job. I have done a King Pin changeout on two rigs. Getting the old one off is not as easy as you think. When putting the new one on, pull your tailgate under the mounting section and use that to help position the new Ki...

Re: Marathon 235/80r16 trouble
When my Marathon failed (belts slipped) on my Right Rear I was lucky in that I noticed it during a stop and before the tire blew. My Marathon's had less than 5,000 miles on the them. The AAA road repair agent that changed the tire for me told me that in the previous two weeks before that he had been...

Re: F-350 Coolant Additive Question
Jim, what I have learned is minimal but this is what I know: The Ford 6.7 Diesels use an orange coolant that is totally different than the old Gold coolant. Never the two should mix. These new orange coolant trucks are special. for the low-sulfur engines. All other diesel truck coolant additives are...

Re: F-350 Diesel Particulate Filter
Thanks Dana. I certainly don't have a problem now as my rig has only 30K miles and almost all of those are highway. However, stuff does happen so I am glad to know there are solutions. I just hope there is a business along the front range of Colorado that does the "bake" method.

Re: F-350 Diesel Particulate Filter
Dana, did you look at the BG DPF cleaning products to clean up your filter? I just heard the BG product advertised this weekend and have no idea if it is a good product.
