Re: Bedsaver by Blue Ox

I looked into getting one of these but decited against it, mainly because of the cost. In their video (on their web site) they showed a fifth wheel coming unhooked and being able to re-hook just by backing up. Makes me real glad I didn't purchase one. I agree with George. It seems that something may...

Re: Towing in Mountains

I leave mine in tow-haul mode and lightly touch the brake. That will signal the computer to downshift the transmission. I only use the brakes to keep the engine at about 3k RPMs. If you do manual shift watch your RPMs. Seems like the engine really screams!!! At least mine does.

Many of the Town/ Cities/ Counties where Wal-Marts are located are telling Wal-Mart NO, you can't have RVers spending the night in your parking lot.

Re: Chev 6.6 duramax repair

Speaking of that fuel sensor; had a dealership change my filter once. Seems that the tech that replaced the filter used a pair of channel locks to tighten the sensor. When he did he cracked the sensor which caused the truck to be hard starting because the fuel system was loosing it prime. When I had...

Re: New truck is quiet

If I can remember back that far, my first three trucks were the oval. I just like the straight six diesel and if the oval ever gets smart and puts it in there truck.... I'm coming back home! To tell ya the truth, I 'm really glad they haven't because I like this one so much! It would be so hard to ...

Hey Mike, We may have to (dare I say it) buy a Ford as opposed to buying a Goverment Motors truck. =(( :ymdevil: Boy, I hope this one lasts a long time. :))

That "drive thru" test is a good measure, my big block bronco with a wild cam and 3 in exhaust has to be shut off to talk to a passenger let alone order at a drive thru   While plowing 11 out of 13 trucks we use are diesels, most are old 7.3 powerstrokes a couple are 6.0 and...

Re: New truck is quiet

Mine is very quite. In 2006 Dodge was reported to have the noisiest out of the three so I didn’t even look at one. Too bad cause I liked the “Big Truck” look of the Dodge and the idea of the Cummins engine. :thumbrt: :thumbrt:

Re: Smog Inspections for CA Diesels

How long is "momentarily" ? A second; five seconds. Seems the law leaves it up to the officer and his/her opinion. Mine omitted a “momentary” puff of smoke as I was accelerating onto to the highway yesterday and I wasn’t pulling the bird. Then of course there are all the people who have no...

Well Don not to start an oil war here but I like dino oil used delo in all of my cummins from day one. Like Mike (not wanting to start a war), I'm with Rob. I did see an opinion once that stated full synthetic was a waste of money if you change it regularly but to each his own. That's why we have t...

Re: Emission Controls for 2010 Diesel Engines

Reading the Chevy Owners site, it is rumored that Chevy will not be changing their engine much for 2010. Seems that the new system has caused a spike in the engine & exhaust temps (hot enough to do damage to the pistons). While some are saying it is the same system as Mercedes others are saying ...
