Dodge Ram

Not to start another truck war on this site, but just got done looking at a Dodge RAM 3500 dually, very impressive.

Re: boat hauling

Have seen over the cab, , you could also double tow a small trailer with them. Double towing is easy, I have a lot of experience and never had a problem.

That surprises me Tom. Doesn't the hitch-head turn with the pin?

Rob
Yes, think we are saying the same thing.

watkinsk wrote:Tom, Do you use a Pullrite Superglide? when you say you have the pin slightly above the hitch, do you mean the bottom of the pin is slightly above the hitch plate front as it is pointing down? I like the tape idea.
Yes the plate is leaning down, pin an inch or two above that.

Re: PullRite Superglide hitch question

I put a piece of red tape on the center back of the hitch and a piece on the center above the pin, I line up the tape when backing . I have the pin just above the plate when backing, it goes on pretty good.

If you are going to a one ton, make it a dally, that will increase stability and braking, that is what I will get for my next truck.

Re: Buy vs Rent RV lots

Agree with Chris, need to try a few places first to see what fits. We are ATV'ers so the places we look for must have plenty of trail riding in the area. This is one reason we choose not to go to Florida.

Keith, sorry about your vehicle getting damaged. It really is a bling shoot when you take your vehicle to a dealer and hope to get the same good treatment from the dealer you bought the vehicle from.

Re: my 2012 F350 died today

Keith, sorry to hear about your truck problems, hope things start getting better for you. When I first got my truck I got some bad fuel and of course it was a trip out west. Heck of a time finding a ford dealer to get you in without waiting 2 weeks. I too run fuel additive and have not had a problem...

Unfortunate we do not dry camp, if we did would definitely need a generator, possible invest in some solar panels, increase batteries.
