Re: Diesel Newbee
DEF is available just about anywhere, I have never calculated how much is used while towing. I know that you are good for over 1200 miles with a full tank. I tow 600 miles one way to NY every year and have never added DEF until after I am home. Then I do not completely fill the tank because freezing...

Congratulations on the 50th. That is something not many can claim. I can't think of a better way to celebrate than a new truck

Re: How Accurate Are Gas Stations Pumps?
The pumps are supposed to be very accurate. Here there is a sticker on each pump that gives the last date that it was certified by the state. I will say that working in the chemical producing industry where the results are dependant on instruments measuring liquid flows, it is highly possible that t...

Re: Can we tow 1998 M28RKB 5er with 06 F350 FX4 DRW?
I towed mine with a 04 F350DRW and a Reese hitch without any problems. I have a 2011 F350 SRW that sits higher that your truck, plus I have a 2nd A/C in the bedroom and the trailer is 13'4" tall. The Interstates require 13'6" clearance. You will have to be careful if you get off of the mai...

Re: Campsites harder to find?
I read that 300,000 new RVs were delivered to the dealers last year. We make our camping plans before the season begins, and have reservations for our long stays, but I have noticed that if we want to spend an overnight while on the road that we need to get into the RV parks early or they may not h...

Re: Buy vs Rent RV lots
We belong to Briarcliffe RV Resort in Myrtle Beach SC. This will be our 3rd year as members. The policy is 15 days in and 7 days out. If the park is not full we can stay the 7 days for $15 a night. The good thing about this membership is that there is no "lifetime" contract. If we decide t...

Re: Trailer sway
My trailer is a little nose high, but the truck is very level when hooked up. The rig is very stabile. I don't have the length or weight that you do. I have noticed that most trucks towing a fiver are setting low in the rear. I would hitch the trailer with no air in the bags. Then put enough air in ...

Re: Dually MPG
I average 10/10.5 towing in the hills of WV. But some say it is uphill both way here =)) =)) I normally drive with the cruise set on 65, but it doesn't seem to make any difference when I do set it on 70. I have become more comfortable at 65 since I don't have to change lanes very often. I average 17...

Re: PullRite Superglide hitch question
Rob, try it with the head rest. My friend took his head rest out, when I told him that I use mine to line up the hitch, he put his back in. He agreed with me. It is a lot easier.

Re: PullRite Superglide hitch question
I have found that using the center rear head rest in my Ford is the easiest way to get dead center of the pin box. I use the rear view mirror only and line the head rest with the pin box. I don't have to see the hitch because if I line the head rest up with the pin box it is perfect.

Re: Scratch In Our New Truck
I now have my first, second, third and fourth (one was not my fault ) it is a dent in the driver door and I don't know where it came from. The first was repaired. Only the third would be considered a scratch, it's on the rear bumper. I have a back-up camera and the back up alarm and still backed int...

Re: my 2012 F350 died today
I am sure that Ford will take care of your truck. I have never had a warranty denial by Ford and I have owned many. I have read on the net about warranty denials, but I don't believe everything that I read on the net. I know how hard it is to get an out of town dealer to put you in front of the loca...
