Re: Escapees in this forum
Crazybear, you might send Roberta (on this forum) a note. They are also going to Benson and they live just down the road from you in Clayton. I live in Pike County, IL and we are on the way to Texas until the end of Feb and then around to Florida until April. Hope you have a nice winter.

Re: Pull Rite CAptive Plate
I don't know what the Universal one looks like. I have mine welded on but have heard the bolt on or clamp on styles will work. As long as it has the "V" to fit into the hitch to allow the hitch to turn and slide, it should work.

Re: SuperGlide Newby <<HELP>>
I have a Super Glide slider hitch for my short bed Ford. There is a plate that needs to be welded to the trailer pin box for the hitch to work. Your dealer should be able to get one and install for you. I've heard that there is now one available that clamps on to allow for removal to pull the traile...

Re: New Truck Tires
I have Hankook tires on the Cardinal. Have not had any problems with them at all. Just put them on this past summer and have about 9000 miles on them so far. We travel quite a bit and we'll see how they hold up. Our new pickup came with Continental's. They are holding up very well.

Re: Questions from a "Newbie" RVer
We also use a small fan in the fridge and it works well. We leave the fridge on all year as we winter in our Bird for 5 months. As for the hitch, we have a Pullrite slider that works very well. We have a short bed pickup and have not had any problems at all. The hitch may seem a little expensive, bu...

Re: Tranny Choice
I will agree with Rob and Cathy, we tow with a 2010 Ford F250 4X4 with an automatic transmission and have had no problems. The previous trucks we have had have all had automatic transmissions. The 2010 we have now has towed the Cardinal over 9000 miles just this year and has never even come close to...

Re: Traverse City, MI
Radar57, we did go from Mackinaw City to Traverse City on the way back to IL. We had a space at Holiday on the water. A nice large space with a nice view of the lake. The space we had was rented out for the summer, however the people that use it had left for the winter.

Re: Traverse City, MI
Tom, it might pay to call for a reservation. We called a couple of days ahead just to be sure to get in but would not have had a problem.

Michigan City, IN
Stopped at Michigan City, IN campground for a couple of nights on the way home from Mackinaw City, MI. Noticed a Cardinal parked in the campground. Talked to the owner about the Cardinal RV Owners Club. He said he had not heard of it, but would definately look into joining. He had an 02 Cardinal WB ...

Re: Traverse City, MI
Yes, most of the spaces were occupied by Airstreams or a version thereof with a season length pass and nice landscaping. A very nice park around a small lake with swans and duck abounding.

Traverse City, MI
Stayed at the Holiday Park Campground in Traverse City Mi. This is an excellent park. Large sites on a small lake that provide an excellent view. I would recommend this campground without reservation.

Mackinaw City, MI
Stayed at Mill Creek Campground in Mackinaw City, MI. A nice park on the water, however the spaces are really tight. Not hardly enough room to unroll an awning. Would recommend it if you can get a bigger site, otherwise, practice your backing skills.
