Re: This should be interesting
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj53/snoking1127/BlueMampM.jpg Well from 1976 to 1979 I drove a Titan 90 Chevy class 8 tractor that weighed 15K. I towed a tanker trailer(10K) that weighed 65K loaded with 8500 gallons of gas. So what's your problem???? Bunch of sissies, that is 4.33333 times the ...

Re: 2013 Chevy 3500 Dually
[q uote] We went for about a 40 mile tow today and I must say this setup feels much better. Then we put the trailer away came home 32 miles and decided to go to Hoppy Brewery my favorite watering hole. Each had a glass of beer and started talking how much we hate being home so got on the phone and m...

Sharp, Sharp, Sharp, can't go wrong with white, and I know that you will love the dually. It is the only way to go with a trailer the size of Alice.

Re: Truck toolbox clearance for cardinal 3450?
The Mega cab Dodge has a really short bed. Make sure that you have enough room for the box. I am sure that you are using a slider hitch that take even more room.

Re: Slight delay
They had a 2 piece flywheel from the factory. It was designed to be smoother. Most people replaced them with the old style solid one piece flywheel when they installed the first clutch. Sometimes before the clutch went bad because the flywheel caused some vibration, lots of the time it was still und...

I will also suggest that you do not wear long bill caps or hats while walking around the camper. They block you vision enough that you will not notice things above. That is why hard hat bills are very short.

Re: Will I ever quit banging my head on my 5'er
I don't hit my head too often, but I am only 5'6" tall. I do believe that after 28 years in a chemical plant and wearing a hard hat everyday that I have some kind of 8th sense about avoiding "head bangers"

Re: SRW or DRW
I have owned 2 duallies and several that were not duallies. The dually is more stable, but the F350 SRW that I have now is more stable than a 250 SRW. I like the fact that I can use a short bed truck with SRW and feel safe. The short bed and SRW is a much easier to use as a daily driver, also Carol ...

Re: Total Loss
The thing about Fords is that the only difference between a 250 and a SRW 350 is the springs. The tires are what limits the payload capacity and the rear axel capacity. The brakes are the same too.

Re: 4 wheel drive-versus rear wheel drive
My 08 quad cab short bed 2500 Dodge was 2 wheel drive, that is the only reason that I don't have it now. It seems that with the heavy diesel in the front that there is no weight on the rear axel. It would not move on level ground in wet grass. I had to be pulled out several times and the rear wheels...

Re: GM/Dodge trucks
OK, I give, when it comes to trucks I always have a comment :)) So here it is. If I were buying used I would buy Dodge. The problem you may have is the cabin room in the 08 and older Dodge. I don't think they had a real crew cab then. The Mega Cabs have a pretty low GCVW. In your case you may be lim...
