Re: This should be interesting

The ideal situation is to have your tow vehicle weigh more than whatever is being towed but, we all know that isn't feasible. I agree that the marketing ploy is getting rediculous and unsafe but, the outcome will be interesting.

Re: Ford 350 Vibration On Takeoff with Trailer

The air bags will take care of the vibration on takeoff, did for me. Same rig as you have.

Re: Air Bags

On your new Ford, weight isn't the issue because these things are stout. I have towed both with and without the air bags on my 2012 6.7, these trucks with the long wheel base exibits a slight shudder whenever starting off. My 2006 extended cab never had the shudder issue, but the 2012 crew cab does ...

Re: Truck Air Bags?

Jim, I am right at 2800# pin weight. I came from a 2006 6.0 F350 that had the extended cab and I didn't have any shudder during takeoff with that truck, the fact that my 2012 is a crew cab (longer drive line) I believe is why I was getting some of the shudder due to the change in pinion angle when h...

Re: Truck Air Bags?

Jim, I installed them on 2012 6.7 CCLB King Ranch and I am glad that I did. The truck rode level without the bags, what I was trying to do was get ride of the shudder on takeoff while pulling and they took care of it. Now I can pull off without any shudder, I keep 20# in mine and that allows the pin...

Bird in Culpeper Va.

I was in town yesterday and saw a Cardinal coming off of Rte. 29 and heading into the town of Culpeper, nice rig. Just wondering if they are members here.

Re: airbags and airline antifreeze

I installed air bags on my F350 however, I don't have a compressor hooked to them. I just put the air into each bag from the shrader valves that I mounted in the top license plate holes. If you are concerned about moisture being in the lines/bags during cold weather you could put nitrogen in the bag...

Re: GM/Dodge trucks

I traded up from my 2006 6.0 to the new 6.7 also and I never had any issues either with my 6.0. I really do like this new rig they just keep getting better and more complicated.

Re: GM/Dodge trucks

Rich, did you ever have the "blue spring" kit installed in the fuel pressure regulator? That will increase fuel pressure and help with injector failure.

Re: GM/Dodge trucks

Sorry guys I was just referring to the Twin I beam reference, Ford has a solid front axle (SFA). Gotta appreciate all 3 brands, competition makes all of us winners.
