Re: New truck tires

A rib tire has much less rolling resistance then an open block style ( mud snow) they will also run cooler and be less prone to wear . Mostly they will save you fuel up to 2 or more due to less rolling resistance. It really does make a difference when you extrapolate even a 1 mpg saving over 30 to 5...

Re: Short Box or Long Box

The Mega Cab comes with a 6.6 inch bed. No shorter or longer. I had a n 06 and now a 14 both equipped with 6.6 ft , it just looks shorter because of the cab length. you can put a 50 gal fuel tank in the bed behind cab. Have a manual slider but have never used it but it is there if need be.

There have been no fires but the potential does exist if the bearing overheats . I think it is 13-15 models.

Re: F-350 Diesel Particulate Filter

I have had 2 class 8 trucks that needed the DPF cleaned after 200,00 . The Cummins shop charged $400 for this service which mainly involved baking then blowing it out. It should be somewhat cheaper for a pick up truck .

Re: 2013 Chev tow vehicle

Well... to be real he already bought the truck so that is not going to change. I have been pulling 14,000 for 4 years with an SRW and have never had a problem. Just make sure your load is as equally distributed you will be ok . I got 25,000 towing. Be sure you have good rubber. If your trailer has c...

HID Lights

Just finished replacing my yellow protection bulbs with HID. What a difference ! These are a 5000 lum output which is the same white light as factory HID'S . They were easy plug and play , the hardest thing is where to put the ballast and the other 3 little black boxes. Well worth the $ 180.00 I pai...

Re: Trailer saver hitch BD3

It depends on the trailer wt. The instructions mine came with said the center of the posts that the head slide up and down on. You do not have to take the air out when unhooking.

Re: Trailer saver hitch BD3

I would try the hitch out before putting out the money for a side winder. Hensly also makes a slider , which I have and can remember using twice might be cheaper then a sidewinder . I have a short bed truck.

Re: Trailer saver hitch BD3

A good move since the BD3 is 18,000 rated. They both are great hitches. I have had mine for 3 yrs with 0 issues. Just be careful when you unhook. I usually run the feet down until the 5 th wheel is almost fully extended then I pull out . Reason being is to keep the top of the bed from contacting the...

Re: Mikes new Truck

I guess it was overlooked . Usually some mention of a new ride is made in this section . Guess the new trailer over shadowed it. When you are full timing the last thing you need to deal with are truck problems. I would get a new one every few years also. See you in Jackson :thumbrt: :thumbrt:
