Need RV Parks for Olympia Penninsula, WA

Post by mikenmarge »

We hope to spend 3 or 4 weeks this fall going up to Washington and around the Olympia Penninsula. We'll probably also go to Long Beach, WA and that area. Does anyone have suggestions for RV parks in those areas? We prefer parks with full hookups and with good views, if possible. We don't have to stay at a lot of different parks because we can make side trips during the day, but would like some variety. We really do prefer views of beach, ocean, rivers or mountains. I ck'd the camping book and there are some listed, but very few with high ratings. Thanks for any suggestions.

Unfortunately, even tho we live only about 60 miles from that area, we only traveled down there with the 5th wheel once several years ago. I can't even remember where we stayed. Hopefully someone who spends more time on our coast can be of help

Fort Warden State Park in Port Townsend is a really nice park. Get right down by the water.

Maybe Crescent Beach and RV Park near Joyce.

Log Cabin on Lake Crescent, watch the road getting there.

Kalaloch State Park on the coast.

There are more state and federal parks than private ones.

Grayland State Park before you get to the Longbeach area.

We've stayed at Fort Warden State Park in Port Townsend. It's great, they have two parts, one on the water and the other in the woods. We've stayed at each, nice but if you can get by the water, go for it.

Port Townsend is one of our "go back places", great little town.

For the Long Beach area -
Ocean Park RV Resort (Ocean Park, WA) - Not the fanciest place, but great people and a great location only a couple of blocks from the beach. Great "General Store" right in town - Jacks. I swear they have everything! Ocean Park is about 10 miles north of Long Beach. We've been going there for a few years now.

Eagle's Nest Resort (Ilwaco, WA)- In the southern part of the peninsula. Nice location up on a bluff just outside (west) of town. Part of a larger resort company. Nice sites as well.

For all of the RV campgrounds on the peninsula look at www.funbeach.com. Good site for all local information.
