Information needed for Snohomish County, WA

Post by Chief409 »

I'm tying to rough out a plan for a trip back up home to Snohomish County, WA next year around May - June. I'm looking at possibly camping at the USFS campground at Verlot on the Mountain Loop, or one of the parks in the south Everett area as the family is in Granite Falls. They're helping all they can, but they aren't towing a Cardinal, they don't RV, period. I haven't been back since 1990, I've checked online and have the new Trailer Life directory coming, but First Hand info is best. Espesically for things like low hanging branches...

Thanks,
Jeff

We spent a week in Snohomish year before last, but it was a National Golden Retriever Dog Show, so they had the whole area at the Snohomish Airport. I do not know if the airport allows camping the rest of the time, but it was very green and pleasant and close to town. We use both the Trailer Life campguide book and the Woodalls. I always ck the scores at the end of each listing and go on their website if we are interested in staying there. So far we have found that the higher ratings and pictures on websites plus a call to them with any questions has paid off with some great places to stay. We hope to be going back up to Washington this fall and go to the Olympia Penninsula area. We're still looking for some good full hookup sites with great views in that area.

Tulalip Casino & RV is 12 miles from Granite Falls. It is right off I-5. "Dry Camping Only". Home Depot, WM and outlet stores right there. Easy drive to Granite Falls.

Lake Ki RV Resort is 14 miles away.

Lake Pleasant RV Park is 24 miles South.

The another good campqround is 33 miles North on back roads. Howard Miller Steelhead County Park in Skagit County.

Not much close to Granite Falls as you can see. Our private campground is only 6 miles away. DRATS! It is private.

Thanks guys. Chris I checked that private RV Resort, yeah it's private! I used to hunt out through there when I was a kid. Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe has RV parking with FHU also. I don't think I'd like to stay there when the races are on though!

The house is just across the Pilchuck River from the County Park SW of Granite. There used to be a gravel area to park, even before the park was established. I have the genset, only problem would be if anyone has built next to the parking area. That's the problem I have with parking at the house. And if there are regulations now telling you ALL YOU CAN'T DO. When the folks built the house in '66 there was only 3 families living there full time and 5 or 6 summer homes in "Sleepy Hollow". So when someone showed up with a trailer they parked out on the rye grass. I'll get on the phone to Sis I guess. First I'll check out the sat maps and photos of "Sleepy Hollow". But it looks like the RV park between Snohomish and Everett might be it. I haven't announced any plans, or that I'm considering a trip that way, as it is a year from now. And lots can happen in a year. Soon though.

Thanks again.
