We're thinking of making a run up to Winnipeg and are looking for some suggestions on campgrounds and things to see in the Red River Valley. :-? :-?

If are looking for a spot around Winnipeg I would recommend Bird's Hill Provincial, it is North of WPG on highway 59. We camp there a lot during the summer, even drive into work some days, takes me about 40 minutes to get to work & I am downtown. There are other closer campgrounds but they are mostly if you stopping for the night or visiting friend or relatives and aren't spending any time at the campground other than to sleep. If you are heading anywhere else in Manitoba, I could try and suggest spots where you could stay.

Thanks Gordon for the information. We're working around grand-kids and their summer activities, but we do plan to make the run.
