New Campground in Aransas Pass, TX

Post by Double D's »

Stumbled on this brand new campground (only open about a month!), quite by accident! We googled for campgrounds in this area and it was first on the list.. Still being built, will have 68 (?) sites when finished, and they are working feverishly to finish.. Office building, laundry, showers, pool, clubhouse are being built as we are here. Sites are concrete with landscaping and trees separating sites, charming 'gaslight' looking lighting. But the VERY best part is that there is FREE cable, GREAT wifi, close to lots of interesting things to see, 10 minutes from the ferry (FREE) over to Port Aransas and Mustang Island.. ALL of THIS for the incredible fee of $150.00 per WEEK! At this point, it is $275.00 for the month, but will be raised a bit when the rest of sites are completed in a few months. Electric is extra, with a meter on your site, but the reading has been running about $5.00 per day, with us running a space heater, instead of furnace.
Will be using this as our base for a few more days, while site seeing, antiquing and visiting friends in this area. Will be heading on down to the Rio Grande Valley next week.
