Wind Creek State Park, Alexander City, AL

Post by stevesmith »

We stayed at Wind Creek for the first time this past February. This is a very nice State park. The section we were in had a new bathhouse that was very nice. There are over 600 sites, some with full hook ups. There is no 50amp service. Due to the lake being a finger lake, many of the sites have waterview. There are over 100 waterfront sites. I did notice that many of the sites are smaller and would be difficult for big rigs to get in but there were plenty for 40 footers as well. Rates are $18 to $21. I expect during the summer this is an extremely popular campground so you might want to call ahead and make sure there is a site suitable to your unit available. Some of the state parks in AL take reservation and some do not. There is lake access, you can rent small boats, the camp store has minimal supplies and some fishing supplies.
