Moss Landing, California

During March 2011 we are looking at staying at Moss Landing KOA Express in Moss Landing, California. Our son-in-law is in the Navy and stationed in Monterey. We want to visit family and see the sites.

Was just wondering if anyone has stayed there or have you heard any comments about this campground? Thanks

I've driven through the park several times. The spaces are small and close to each other but it is clean and a good location close to Monterey. It's in a very nice setting right next to the harbor. It's pricey as are all parks in that area at $60-70. There are some good restaurants, check out Phil's Seafood. Harbor seals and otters often come into the harbor. If you continue down the road towards the ocean, you can park and walk to the jetty and watch the otters swimming in the inlet. Elkhorn Slough has a great boat ride from the harbor if you have time to do it. If you want something less expensive and don't mind staying about 30 minutes away from Monterey, I usually stay at Betabel RV Park in San Juan Bautista on Highway 101. However, since you are visiting family, I'm sure that you want to be closer.

Thanks for the great information. They do offer a monthly rate that does bring the price down a bit. We do have some time to look at other locations, in fact today we are winterizing our Bird and putting it into storage.
