Indio, Calif.

Post by Big Bird »

We just spent a few days in Indio, CA and getting a good RV park has been a problem for us in that area. But, we keep looking and stayed at Shadow Hills RV Resort this past week. It is q gem. Not a lot of pull-through, but I think that will change soon. Space width in great and they have full hook ups. There is a dog park, pond, pool, gym and lots more. We had a double long space (pull-through) and paid $30 a day including tax. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The only thing they cannot fix is the heat. Indio is Indio in the summer. Warning, the winter is when the snow birds arrive; call well in advance for reservations. The resort is only a few blocks off of I 10 and just across the street from Dell Webs Shadow Hills development.

Have you tried Lake Cahuilla? It is a Riverside County Park, next to PGA West, south end of Madison or Monroe, and west on Ave 58. The sites are nice. They have water, elect., and a dump station. Restrooms offer pay showers. No cable, but fair antenna reception. Not many stations in the Coachella Valley. You can reserve specific spaces through Riverside County parks. It ia quiet, with fishing, hiking, cycling, and not far from cities.

We drove past the lake, but we were visiting friends at or near Del Web and when traveling to Trilogy homes we saw the sign to the lake. It would have been 20 minutes out of the way to stay at the lake.

Thanks and it is a consideration for a just for us trip. We do not seem to get many of those.
