Isla Blanca Park, South Padre Island Tx

Has anyone stayed at Isla Blanca park on Padre Island. We were thinking about going down that way for a week or so. Any comment would be welcome.

Jash, what's your timing on this trip? We're hoping to leave for Texas after the big snow storm next Tuesday.

Good questions Torben. I can't give you any good answers. Will be in Dallas to see my folks then just tour for warm weather. No reservations yet. Weather is to iffy for next week between here and there.

Last month we were in the RGV for a week and took a day trip to South Padre. The campground looked full from the road and several vehicles were in the parking lot at the registration office. It looked like it was an okay place. We really liked the KOA on South Padre Island as well and appeared to have more space around the RV sites. As to the comments on the weather here in Texas. We are in San Antonio and this Friday we are supposed to be in the low 70's. Sounds good until you look out to next Tuesday and the high predicted for the day is 40. Lots of cold fronts coming through with good weather days in between.

We stayed at the KOA on South Padre a couple of years ago - very friendly folks in office and in the surrounding campers.. Great Pier that served a great meal right there. A bit spendy, but we decided to ''say we did''.... We enjoyed it!

We have been here in Corpus Christi for about two weeks, we can extend our stay here till the 11th if we want. Looking at the long range weather I think we are going to leave here on the 1st and head east to Florida. Id like to make my way down to Key West and spend a few weeks there.
