Texarkana TX Campground

Post by campswithcritters »

In the past we always used the KOA when passing through Texarkana, this time did a little more research and located a gem. Shady Pines Campground is a few miles west of Texarkana on US 67 and is really nice. The landscaping is recent so trees are young, but all pads are concrete and several 80 ft pull-throughs. Great office/meeting room, good grass and level sites, pretty pond and friendly folks. RV dealership with parts & service next door and good wi-fi. Only drawback I see is limited TV reception (satellite friendly). Put it in your use it if in area file as the KOA is right on I-30, noisy & busy. B-)

Maiden Voyage Donna & Atlanta had a lot of low branches last time I was there, pretty sure I could get it one of their pull-throughs but playing it safe.
Still don't have a major travel plan, but did figure that after 6 months not moving we need an extra day to rest again after 5 hours on the road!
