Winter Plans

Post by teallen »

Made some reservations at an RV park in southeastern Arizona. Judy and I always wanted to head south for the winter and am going to try it for 2012. Will stay in Tucson area (want to try and get on Davis Monthan AFB, but they do not accept reservations, otherwise will have to find a park in the Tuscon area), Feb at the Tombstone Territories and for Mar will try and get reservations at Fort Huachuca (military fam camp).

Go on RV.net and contact Fasteagle, he knows a lot about the military camp sites. He has a thread going under fulltime rv'ing right now.

BTW we will be at Canyon Vistas RV Resort site 420 in Gold Canyon, Az Dec-end of Mar. Chris

If you're into aircraft there is a nice museum across the highway from Davis. We were there in '93, my son spent hours walking through the planes. Be sure to take plenty of water to drink, it gets HOT.

We will be set up at Palm Creek Resort in Casa Grande. Took a look at Davis Monthan and it looks like a good campground but did not stay there due to traveling with father in law and his rig.

Oh no! You will have to buy a RC race truck. They have a dirt track in the park there. We are much cleaner at Canyon Vistas as we have a paved oval track. Chris

We will be spending the winter at Gunstock Ski Area and Campground in Gilford, NH. It's part of the Mount Washington Valley and we will all be skiing or snowboarding every chance we get. Nothing like winter camping, waking up to fresh snow, and those snow capped mountain views are incredible, can't wait !!!
